Has no clear grading rubrics. Not that I expect 100s, but gave me high 80s-low 70s and gave no reasoning or feedback. We had weekly discussions for easy 100s, I got 90s and no feedback on improvement to get 100s. Also has unclear instructions and then grades based on other criteria not given. Would definitely not recommend.

John Yorke is an incredible theatre professor! It is an easy A as long as you show up and pay attention. He is a laidback guy, as long as you look like you're listening and you are not on your phone or distracting the class with talking. He requires you to see two plays and you have to be sure to get your booklet stamped at the end for proof.

Worst teacher. Expects for you to understand and know everything by just lecturing constantly. He can be rude and always demanding. I went to class everyday and still got a B.

All John Yorke wants is for you to do your best. If you don't do your best and put forth effort, you won't pass. Be interested and he will assist you if you don't understand or if you have questions. Be kind and respectful of him, others, and the material and he will go above and beyond to help you out. Just be a good human and you will pass.

John Yorke is a good teacher. Hes laid back and doesnt take attendance BUT you must show up to take notes and pass his quizzes. If you take notes and study you will pass. You must attend the two shows the theatre department puts on, theyre free and an easy 100. The only criticism is he grades the one paper you have to write very meticulously!

Do not take this class. He knows the material, but tests are so hard it doesn't matter if you have the notes. He will ask detailed questions that you have no idea about.

AWFUL!! If you are looking for an easy A, this class is not it. He is very bad at teaching, does not explain the power points well. Also he fails to prepare the students for the exams.

He is not willing to work with anyone or give extra credit. Tests are extremely hard and he expects you to know the most random things. Do not take this. Take music appreciation or something easy for a humanities course.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. There are classes that are upper division or science classes that I have made A's in but thanks to him, my GPA dropped from a 4.0 He is rude, unorganized, and the grading is horrible. Only have 3 exams, a quiz, and a paper. If you are looking for a easy humanity, this is NOT it.

Literally hate this class. I attend every class and still get C's on my tests. He only lectures, gives no extra credit, and is rude. You are required to see each play and write a paper review on one that he assigns. I watched the play and took notes during the play and he gave me a B on my paper. He graded it harder than any of my English teachers.

At first this class wasn't that bad. He was light hearted and said attendance wasn't required. There is only 3 exams, two plays to attend, and one paper on a play. If you don't do well on the exams, which get harder, you are screwed. I would NOT take this class ever again. I studied and he isn't very clear on his lectures either.

You take 4 tests. One of which is the final. Must attend two plays . And one video quiz. This is ALL YOUR SEMESTER GRADE IS CONSISTED OF each test is 15% of grade. Each play is 15 % of grade and video quiz is 10% . Tests are moderately hard if you don't go to class. GO SEE THE PLAYS OR YOU WILL NOT PASS !!!! I honestly advise you do not take him.

If you're not a big fan of theater, the course material will be a little dry to you, but Yorke really knows his stuff. Just come to class, go see the plays, and put some effort into the play response papers and you'll be fine.
