Love Dr. Eichelberger! She's the most endearing woman, and the class was such an interesting topic that she seemed excited and enthused to be teaching. Her feedback on papers was very helpful to me and her tests are straightforward and easy to do well on if you put in the work. Lots of little papers, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the class.

Dr. E is a nice woman, but teaching is not her expertise. She is one of the hardest graders I've ever had. Effort and your own interpretation of poems is not enough to get you a decent grade on papers and exams. Instead, you really need to be able to spit out her interpretation of poems. Unorganized and confusing when teaching. Don't take her class

Boring class, and a lot of work compared to other English 110 classes. If you can avoid taking her class, do it.

Looks 5ft above your eye level when talking to you. Very cynical and somewhat arrogant when it comes to understanding your struggles. Way more work than other english classes. Personally I'd recommend NOT taking this class.

Really interesting class! I think Dr. Eichelberger gets a bad rap. Yes, she expects a lot from you, but isn't that what college is about? Once you know what she wants from you, you're golden. Really solid material, and cool class discussion. Get to know her! She's willing to help all students. Talk to her during office hours and ask questions!

Never never never NEVER take this class. Shes the most disorganized professor I've had in my life, but YOU have to stay organized for her. Read all hand-outs carefully because they have lots of typos and mistakes. Her assignment instructions and schedule are gibberish, so be sure to ask what shes expecting from it and when.

Dr. E's a nice enough woman, and accessible if you are having trouble. She was willing to meet with me to go over my first paper, and what I could have done better. Her tests are insane. Papers were OK. She's kinda dry when lecturing and doesn't like it when students mention POVs on the stories that don't match her own.

Decent professor. A LOT of reading and boring group discussions in class. Doesn't do much to prevent boredom during lecture. Tests are tough, but she's reasonable when grading. Must be able to recall specific phrases from reading for tests and match with author. Many people had trouble with that.

the class is kinda dry and not that engaging, but shes nice and does her best to get the class engaged. shes a little awkward, but who cares? shes not rude! her class is easy! its a lot of reading but she doesn't call on people randomly so if you didn't read its okay. her tests and papers are decently easy too. pretty boring but nothing deathly

Everyone on here has been far too hard on Eichelberger. Have taken her for 2 classes - once you know what she wants you will make the grade. Not the most entertaining class but you cover a lot and learn a lot. Far more approachable than she may seem.

If I had to choose between getting hit by a car and taking Eichelberger's class again...I'd choose getting mauled by a Doberman.

She is nice enough, but is in her own world while teaching. Hard to follow unless you can devote an over the top amount of time to her class. Acts as if you are only reading for her class, and has fav authors that you are not allowed to dislike (o'connor, welty, etc). Lots of reading!

I would like to thank you all for your awful comments about Eichelberger, because now people have dropped the class she's teaching this semester. I was stressing out because I couldn't take this wonderful teacher's class and now I can, You must understand that NOT ALL YOUR ANALYZES ARE CORRECT! We used the text book everyday but it was 50% poetry.

LOTS of books to buy.. but the readings she chooses are different and very interesting. Professor Eichelberger is definitely socially awkward and not very helpful, but class discussions were great! she takes off points without any explanation of why she did so on essays though Honestly if it wasn't for such an awesome subject class woulda been bad

Dr. Eichelberger's class isn't completely horrible but I agree that it is a sad excuse for an English course. The papers are a breeze if you have written English papers before and the tests are pretty standard. She is rude. Completely socially inept, lacking tact and class. It's not bad, but it's very hard to convince yourself to keep going.

Her class is a pitiful attempt at a college English course. Her way of analyzing classic texts is listening to what a dim-witted class full of reluctant Education majors has to say about the works. If you can put together a comprehensive sentence (which, apparently, not one of the Education majors in my class could) you can make A's on every paper.

Professor Eichelberger was a decent woman, she is just not the greatest teacher I have ever had. She expects you to teach the class with your opinion, and she just stands back and listen to us talk. She is an easy grader, once you figure out what she wants, which is no easy feat. I honestly hope I don't have to take her again.

The class is a little dry, but she's nice and patient in the way she discusses the texts. The assignments are insultingly simple and I didn't think she was a harsh grader at all. Attendance is mandatory which is tough because the class is so boring. I wouldn't be too worried about the class. As long as you can write decently, she's fine.
