She was a good professor but it takes some time to figure out the right way to study for the exams. They are all multiple choice but she doesn't give any help on how to study.

You will do the majority of your learning outside of class and you should read each chapter before taking the test. There are only 5 tests throughout the semester so you have to make sure you do well.

Dr. Bendersky loves her students and that is clearly seen inside of the classroom. She does seem intimidating at first, but don't let that stop you from getting to know her because she is awesome!

She should be working at the graduate level with what she expects. Whatever interest was there before is definitely gone now. I recommend finding a different teacher to take this class with. Also, her expectations on tests are through the roof. It's a C if you cite all the information and a B if she likes your writing style.

Ridiculous. She needs to be teaching at a graduate level...her test questions do not come from any of her notes and the book is no help either. Do not take her.

Comment:
Dr. Bendersky's lectures are so simple, the book is too difficult to understand and her test questions are ridiculous. She expects a lot from her students but isn't a good enough teacher for the level of expectation. Doesn't care if you have all the correct information, you have have a good writing style too. Worst psych professor I have had.

Excellent teacher. Not an easy A, but she teaches in a way that will stretch you and cause you to retain the information much better than in classes where an A is handed to you on a silver platter. If you are pursuing a career in psychology then I would highly recommend her classes and lab. She will definitely prepare you for grad school!

Dr. Bendersky sucks! her notes are vague and her terms in her notes or not the same as the book but tests you on both. the test suck! even if you study, the tests are so vague. you dont really know WHAT to study and she doesnt help you. she has annoying habits, talks horribly, dresses in black all the time. just dont take her.

I would not recommend her for cognitive. Her tests can be very vague and difficult (this is coming from someone who usually gets all A's). Even if you read the book, come to class, study your lecture notes, and make note cards you will probably not be able to get through a test with ease. Don't expect an easy A or B!

Not easy A, can drop lowest m/c + essay test grade (5 tests). There was one research paper which was slightly difficult and easy in-class assignments. She reads from PowerPoints which can be boring but she usually elaborates in interesting and enlightening ways. If you read the book and go to class you'll do fine.

She's a very nice and caring professor - always interested in whats going on with her students' lives. Her class is usually interesting and she does her best to keep it that way. Her tests are pretty hard though, because she uses a lot of textbook questions on tests. As long as you read up before the tests, you should be fine - i made a B.

A young and interesting teacher. She does a good job of switching the class format between lecture and discussion to keep you interested. She is knowledgable but doesn't cover much material in class. Be prepared to read the textbook chapters in order to prepare for tests.
