Comment:

Karin is one of my favorite professors ever. She makes class enjoyable and really open to make your speeches unique. She gets off topic a lot which I enjoyed because she gave a lot of personal stories. If you put in the time, it's an easy A. She really wants you to succeed and cares about you. Highly, highly recommend Karin for COMM1114!

Karin was incredible, and I loved this experience. She gives you all the help and information you need for a good speech. Karin also makes it very clear what her grading criteria is. Weekly quizzes are not difficult. Overall, my favorite part was the class atmosphere she created. It was one of the best classes I ever took at RCTC!

wow I love her. She made everyone in the room feel comfortable and welcome. I have social anxiety and am an introvert, but this class was almost easy for me bc of her. You DO NOT need to buy a textbook for this class. The D2L quizzes are super easy and she uploaded to whole textbook online for us. 11/10 would recommend!

Literally one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. She's amazing. She creates a REALLY inviting and comfortable environment. She's hilarious and her directions/grading criteria are clear and fair. 10/10 recommend! Don't do speech with anyone else!

Comment:

I loved Karin, she was so straight forward with what she expected of her students. The class itself was fairly simple, as long as you do your weekly homework. There are a couple major projects, but they are more fun than work. You have to record yourself talking but Karin gives great feedback and is understanding. Highly recommend Karin!

Professor Karin Wright is one of the most inspirational professors I've ever had. She is exciting, insightful, encouraging, and is completely passionate about the course content she teaches. She grades on time so that you are aware of your standing. She gives helpful and caring feedback on posted discussions, projects, and assignments.

Overall I feel like my public speaking skills have definitely improved with the in-class activities and the feedback from speeches! Definitely recommend as long as you go to class! A captivation teacher and makes class something to look forward to. Advice- take care of the ten online quizzes during the first week of school, so you don't have to worry about them. You will be graded on participation, so speak up! If you have a learning disability, Karin is helpful, easy to work with and to accommodate

Karin is really a nice professor, and a great person. Her class is very structured and planned and all assignments are clear. The book is needed for D2L quizzes. I would maybe share a book with a friend as the book is used only for 10 or so D2L quizzes that are short, easy, and all open when the semester starts. Enjoyable professor and not hard.

An incredibly bright and vibrant personality, professor Wright creates an enjoyable and safe environment in which even the most timid person can feel confident and comfortable speaking in front of the class. She brilliantly allows the class to evolve over time to one in which the students feel in control.

She was extremely clear about what she expected and what needed to be done, which made the class so easy to follow. Very helpful! It seemed like a lot of reading, but the class was taken in a short time period, so that might have skewed my opinion.

I was totally dreading taking speech, but this class ended up being my favorite of the semester. You have to put some effort into it (try not to use notecards, practice your speech, etc), and if you can switch with someone to get an earlier speaking day DO IT (she grades easier on those), but her class is so worth it. It was LOTS of fun! :D

Karin is very nice overall but believe me your grade is your grade no help. No second chances! I was 5 points off from a better grade and she didn't give it to me?? 5 points!!! Not even a full assignment. Oh well good luck to most of you but do your best and do not expect her to be lenient and award any points for free.

Karin is by far one of the best professors I have had. She cares so much about her career & the education of her students. It is a difficult class, but it is one of the most rewarding. You will remember so much about her class. Be sure to read the book & complete the quizzes and you will do just fine. Have fun with the speeches and relax! TAKE HER

Comment:

Took this crash course during the summer. A lot of reading the textbook for the online quizes. You had to be on top of your assignments as this was a very fast paced class. She is super organized and makes her assignments clear and understandable. She will answer questions promptly by email. This was a good experience as a speech class.
