My biggest college mistake so far has been taking her class. She grades based on opinion - if you agree with her, you'll do great. I'd rather kms than take anything with her ever again.

The worst ever. She doesn't grade on the quality of your work, but rather how much she agrees with what your saying. Her grading is subjective and complete bs. Biggest mistake to take her, even bigger mistake on behalf of csun that they haven't fired her yet. Her teaching capabilities and time has way past expired.

Prof. Sorrells is the type of teacher you want mentoring you. She's very caring, intelligent and is open to different opinions. The class is laid back and Assignments were pretty easy especially if you're into the subject matter. She wrote the textbook and so is great at explaining concepts you don't understand. Recommended for any social maj.

Prof. Sorrells is such a caring professor. She is well versed in intercultural communication and brings a lot of insight into the classroom. She wrote her textbook, which is easy to read. There are a few papers and a group project. Pretty laid back class.

She's really nice and cares a lot about the class. A lot of it is opinion based and as long as you can back up your opinions in your papers, you're going to get a good grade.

Took class time to attend protests and events which furthered her agenda; despite not agreeing with the purpose of these events, attendance was nonetheless mandatory. She doesn't give much feedback on assignments and doesn't update your grades - you have no idea what your grade is unless you contact her to tell you. Overall, would not recommend.

I really enjoyed her class. Very kind and open-minded. She knows when you are trying your best. Participate and get into the subject since it is an interesting one. My favorite class which was a nice break from all the rigid accounting classes I had to take. I really liked her.

Get ready to be challenged in a way that pushes you to be critical of yourself and the world in which you live. Here, "critical" has less to do with criticizing or complaining and all the more to do what questioning, perspective-changing, and moving away from one's comfort zone.

Take this class, BUT not with this prof. Did not really teach, lots of group projects, def. had her favorites. Very easy grader for those willing to worship her, and diff. to those not willing to play her game. Will ramble on & on & on about herself, kept us in late every night for no real reason. For me it was a waste of time & money.

I wish I had taken this class with another prof. VERY liberal views and didn't hesitate to push her views politically on her class. Did not enjoy the skewed one track thinking... her way or nothing!

she likes to ask you questions and will sit there until she gets an answer and will wait till enough answer it wrong, that she says it. its a 400 level class. tough grader. midterm, final, 3 app assignments, 1 presentation, final paper. lots of work, but very enthused about subject. make sure to go, she will notice. lots of lecturing. takegoodnotes

Very disappointed in class. sorrells was more worried about telling stories of an extremely liberal agenda vs. teaching a balanced communications class. Find another instructor/class unless you can tolerate a political agenda based on her opinion of how government is unfair to protestors. Wasted my time.

Fairly easy grader. Seemed like there was an inordinate amount of work in the class, much of it towards the end of the semester. 4 homework papers, 2 research papers, and a group presentation. Far-left outlook, socially and politically. Interesting lady though, can be fairly engaging. I would steer clear if you can, I think there are better profs

This is an interesting subject. I'm not impressed with the teaching style. It was either lecture or presentations from the students. We did presentations constantly. Basically, the students taught the class. She was unclear with the projects, as well. Half of the time the students were not sure what we were doing. Nice woman, not the best prof

This class is hard in case you were looking for an easy forget about it. Class is very open and she is always ready to hear others opinions. Tests are essays questions and short answer questions. Have to write at least two short papers 2-4pg and the final is a presentation and an 8pg research paper. Just be prepared to study :)

She really enjoys teaching, but her class is demanding. Make sure you come to every class, because it can be hard to catch up (unless you have a great friend who can take notes when you're sick). Spend a lot of time working on the papers, they will be a huge part of the grade. Get help early if you need it.
