Comment:

Professor Sanker is very lecture heavy, expect 5-6 hours of lecture a week with minimal other activities in class. She's also unsympathetic during the pandemic including an assignment to go out and talk to strangers and calling online school a choice despite being the head of a department with no in-person classes running.

Comment:

Online class lacks organization and structure. Class was much more stressful than it should have been. She seemed rather "spacey" and would forget to post things or send out announcements without the necessary information. Quizzes were all over the place. Wouldn't recommend.

I LOVE photography and will continue on with my major but will NOT take her again. She's not very helpful or interesting. She spends majority of the class time lecturing instead of applying hands-on demonstrations that beginners really need and strive for. Her instructions are ALWAYS vague and lacks any type of structure. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECCONMEND

The class wouldn't have been bad if Prof. Sanker had been more helpful. Her directions were vague and there were no study guidelines given, even for final quizzes, but if asked to clarify, she says to "use your creativity." Would definitely not take another class from her.

I took an online class with professor Sanker, it was more difficult than it should have been. Her notes aren't Very clear at times so taking the quizzes can be challenging. I asked her for help a few times and instead of helping me she told me to go to the Ace Center. She didn't seem to enjoy teaching an online class.

Kate is not only an amazing teacher, but an amazing person. She shows students so many examples and has many professional photographers come in class and talk to the students. She has handouts for everything you need to know about the technical side of things. She goes out of her way to help students as much as she can. Really enjoyed.

Lost all interest in photography after taking her class. She seems to have lost interest in her work and it shows. If you have no experience in photography or the software, good luck getting support. Seriously lacks the detail needed for beginners. Very hipster and grades based on who she favors. I spent thousands of dollars in camera equipment!

Yes, she pushes her students to push themselves. Some may cry about it, and others may take that and have great success. I didn't enjoy the technical exercises, but I know how to use a camera now, that is for sure. After taking 2 classes with her, I was able to find my passion and am now a dedicated and professional photographer.

All around great human being. Very helpfull. There is alot to learn from this woman. My life is better since having met and studied under her......and her nose ring IS very cute. If you actually want to learn you will enjoy her class

I freaking love Kate. She puts things in a whole different perspective when she teaches. As you can read on, most people don't like her for her attitude, but I think a teacher that is blunt and right to the point is amazing. She speaks her mind, and doesn't care what anybody thinks, and that is why she is a great teacher. I would most definently recommend people to take her class. And how many professors do you know that have a nose-ring?

i was very interested in photography,but after the semester ended,i never want to pick up a camera again.i asked for help,and just looked at me like i was stupid. i pasted the class w/ a B,but still i had to work my ass off to get that.i would not recommend her to others.& that nose ring, got 2 go!!
