Comment:

Second time taking O'Neills course. Made a difficult subject relatable and easy to understand. Very intense guy, students who aren't serious should avoid him in higher level courses. Feel free to be open with him and do not hide your opinion. Some students are real casual with him but I'd maintain a respectful relationship. O'Neill is no joke!

If you are considering taking his class I would highly suggest you don't. This class was a waste of tuition and time. I learned absolutely nothing from taking this class because all he wants to do is pry into his students lives and make them feel bad for believing in a particular religion. You don't learn a thing about philosophy in his class.

Absolute genius of a professor. He'll teach you the course material in a very natural and easy way. You'll walk away from his classes thinking like a philosopher. Interactions are hilarious and he's a really awesome and relatable guy. He's wildly intelligent and easy to talk to. If you're taking a high level course choose him, he'll make it easier

EXCELLENT!!!! Not even my major or slightly related to anything I am interested, but this has been by far my favorite class that I have ever taken! Fun, interesting, and you really learn about yourself. AMAZING!!!!!! If you need to take Philosophy wait until you can get into this class. Worth. It.

Although he likes to be called Kevin, he is Dr. O'Neill to me. He was one of most influential in my life. He's out there, rather unconventional, etc., but the heart of it all he's a brilliant man who somehow has the patience to deal with novices. He can make "school" seem like the adventure it should be.

I know the guy is a genius, but I really wasn't challenged much by this class. If you haven't taken many classes where politically correct is thrown out the window, then this could be the class for you. However if you have, then a lot of his antics and style of "pushing the envelope" might just be a little bit redundant.

I love Kevin, he's fantastic. He really encourages free thought, let's you come to conclusions on your own, but guides you along. His class is worth taking, he's hilarious and has tremendous character! Thinking back on UofR, his is a major highlight in the blur of classes I took

Every lecture is like a stand-up philosophy set. If you start thinking in cliches or inconsistencies, he'll call you on it. He's difficult to impress, but he'll challenge you to think beyond the "normal" if you'll let him.
