Heemong Kim is an amazing professor, I had the great amazing experience to do an independent study (aka Graphic Design V) with him over the summer and it was truly eye opening and def an experience I'll never forget. He helped me so much and I hope he inspires you. I had him for Graphic Design 1.4, and 5. He's so funny and really spacey.

I've had Heemong Kim most of my Graphic Design program here at RIC. He's the funniest, most laid back guy I've ever had. The bad reviews here just say he's spaced out... So I wouldn't consider them practical reviews. He's out there alright but that is what makes him so funny and memorable. Offers extensions which is super awesome, just ask.

Professor Kim is the best! He is a little bit out there but he is very knowledgeable about graphic design and typography. I had him for Graphic Design 1,4, Senior Studio and an independent study class. He gives honest feedbak which is important in a class like this. He is also good wirh adjusting deadlines if you need more time on an assignment!

Heemong is one of the best professors at RIC. He is very funny and gives you a lot of room to be creative! his class however is not that structured (which i like) so if you're a type A personality you will not like his methods... Overall he is great and he lets you create your own path for your designs!

Heemong is very knowledgeable about the design/advertising world. If you are considering becoming a professional in this field then attend class and engage. You can also get a decent grade by having great attendance and putting a little effort in.

If you choose to, it is possible to "get by" in this class with a decent grade. Heemong is very clear about what he wants and will often push you to choose a (nearly guaranteed) successful path. However, I find you will get more from him if you actively engage him. It will mean much more work for you but also greater gains. Depends on your goal.
