Comment:

Prof. YU is one of the smartest heads at BMCC. He Is clear when explaing the chapters. Gives review before the exam. He even gives out some of the questions from the test. His exams are all from his notes, so read all the notes and the highlights that he gives. The tests have the same patern. I liked him, he is very organized.

Comment:

Professor Dr. Yu is a average professor and he teaches lesson in a easy way. However, his accent may be hard to understand, but at least he go over the Topic with you Agian and again until you understood it. Also, his test are base of 14 or 10 shorts answer, 20 true or false, and 10 multiple choices. His test are tricky, so get ready to study.

I'm taking him for the summer semester and I really like him as a teacher. He gives great notes and explains everything as best as he can to help us understand. He wants you to ask him questions when you don't understand which is nice. There are only two lab tests! two pages long and easy! Does reviews for the tests always! Makes corny jokes.

" This is no theory, it's a fact" This professor is confusing, just speaks and writes on the board. Half of the things he says would be like spilling an alphabet soup on a table, while the other half is actual biology work. Doesn't required textbook, but if you taking this class.. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to everything and GOOD LUCK. -,-

He will straight up talk the entire class and write on the board. Every lecture will consist of at least 3 entirely full pages of notes. There is no homework or quizzes at all. A total of 4 lecture exams and 2 lab exams. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. He does not use Blackboard or any online materials so just study your class notes consistently.

Professor Yu makes it easy to understand certain biology stuff but when you leave his lectures you walk out with 3+ pages of notes. He gives 2 lab exams and 4 lecture exams. More than half of the stuff I would study wouldn't even be on the exams. Overall he's okay, I'll give him a 3 out of 5 stars

I cannot recommend this professor enough. He explains things clearly and takes difficult concepts and teaches them in a way that makes them easy to grasp. He does thorough reviews before each exam, so you know exactly what to expect.

His classes are mainly consumed and based on 3 Hour Lectures with no breaks. The positive is their is no TextBook required for the class although, he references it in many of his lectures. Also, this class can give you 7 pages of back to back writing. Mind you half of the material is repetitive and also not on the exams.

if you love science i would say take him but if not stay away he gives you gives you like 6 pages of notes and half the notes are not on the test he goes to fast three hours of straight note taking with out break the most boring class i have ever took half the class falls asleep never again had to drop he over explains lessons as well

Great teacher, I am by far not good in any sciences and let me tell you he is the teacher to take. He understand what he teaches is difficult and will do everything in his power to pass you. Four tests and sometimes he curves the grades. Very nice man and really smart. If I were you I would take him for a credit.

Listen. I don't like science and its not my major. However, I received an A in his class and in the lab as well. DONT buy the textbook. Take ALL the notes he puts on the board and then study those notes. Don't miss class at all. If you write down all the notes and then study them with a friend you will receive between a B+ and an A. 4 test total

Highly recommend for his class. Amazing Professor! Took his class during summer. Be prepared for intensive note-taking. Ask questions, he will explain everything for you. Don’t miss classes, you will fall behind. Take notes!!Study them!! All the questions on the exam are from the notes. I’ve learn so much from Prof.Yu,Thank you professor.

Okay. Let me just say that by the grades I got I should have failed or gotten at least a D- and he gave me a C. VERY TOUGH GRADER. A lot of notes. Don't even bother getting the text book. This is a hard class and is NOT easy you cannot just show up and do nothing and expect to pass. You need to at least show him you're making an effort to pass.

Very informative teacher, 2 lab exams and 4 lecture exams with a 5+ curve seems good but it's not. While theres no need for textbook you'll be writing alot of notes each class 4pgs+ he tells us whats on the exam although it's not present and expects you to know the material as he states "these exams shouldn't take nowhere near 15mins or more" g

Save yourselves don't take his class. You take 5 pages of notes daily. During his test half the things he tells you to study will not show up. He doesn't give classwork or homework only exams every 3 weeks, so if you think you understand his class watch yourself be wrong on exam day. Lastly he doesn't tell you what's on the test most times.

Pros- very energetic prof, lots of note-taking meaning no need to buy (expensive) text book for lecture section, lots of revisions, frequent exams equal more readings equal student are up to date on lessons, questions are welcomed and explained well, no home works.Cons- very TOUGH grader.

Amazing professor, today was my last day of sum1 semester, and it's my first time saying that honestly I didn't want this class to end. Very interesting stuff that you will use for the rest of your life. This DR made me fall in love with biology and is the BEST PROFESSOR IN BMCC at a very high level. Extremmmmmely recommend.
