Professor Fendrich assigns way more work than her syllabus will say and talks down to students if they are unable to immediately catch on to "hidden" meanings or metaphors within texts. As a teacher, she's eh. But as a person, she seems really nice.

Love her! Really great teacher with a lot of interesting stories. She really helped my writing and I actually enjoyed going to her class. (Also a fellow feminist!)

Comment:

A lot of people complain about Fendrich, but she was so helpful and made sure we understood anything and everything we needed to do for essays or tests. Yes, she gives a lot of work. Yes, it's hard to get a good grade on essays. But if you put in the work you'll be fine. This is a prime example of a class where you earn the exact grade you deserve.

I took an honors seminar with her and it's the best class I've ever taken. She's incredibly smart and generally a cool person. Class was very discussion-based and she definitely expects everyone to participate. She's really tough on writing, but because she legitimately wants you to improve, so expect lots of feedback. Intense class but worth it!

She's not the greatest C&E professor, she's really really strict on grading writing, but there are only 3 papers in the semester. She's very very strict and you have to write a discussion question with a cited quote from the text for each reading.

this woman is the bane of my existence. while evey other professor in the FA dept. was helpful and encouraging, she stuck her nose up at everything I and my fellow classmates did. she hides behind the guise of intellectualism while being an utter misery. she picks favorites. full of back handed "compliments". learned nothing.

This is the first art class I have ever taken since middle school, and it's such a great experience! Professor Fendrich adds to the experience by being such a great professor. She is extremely helpful and always is in a great mood. Whether you just need a creative participation credit like me, or if you are an art major, TAKE HER!

Anyone who thinks she's a bad teacher just doesn't like being held to a high standard. If you don't like doing work, don't take her classes. I've learned so much from her painting class, and I'm an AH major required to take studio classes. Love her so much she's writing my grad school recs!

Brilliant professor, and a fun class. She teaches at a much higher level than most, and really pushes you to synthesize the material and become a better writer. Probably the hardest B+ I ever earned, but I really did think about things differently after this course.

My favorite teacher so far. She is SO smart and enthusiastic about what she teaches. She will also help you to become a better writer garunteed. There is A LOT of reading, but the class is better is you just get through it. If you put in effort like she says, there's no way you'll get below a B. She pushes you to be better. Its awesome

She is great and loves her craft. But you will find that she is so over-energetic. She forgets that students have full days of classes and expects you to have maximum energy for her class. She will tire you out before you know it. LOL, but she is a great lady, just chug a few red-bulls with a full meal before her class.

Amazing teacher. Helps you so much with papers, and even lets you rewrite them if you want to bring up your grade. She's passionate about what she teaches and she will give you insight into the world of art and even about life itself. She also talks a lot about history, so you'll learn about that too. Definitely take her!

Great Professor.Took FA as an elective, not an easy grader, but the class was well worth it Has a great personality, and good sense of humor, helps you with your work, but shes also knowledgable about life. Recommend for any Fa major, or anyone wanting to a take an elective class they defenitly enjoy
