I absolutely loved professor Kupchella! Chemistry is by far my worst subject, but having him as a professor really helped me. He really is caring and will help with any questions during/after class and during office hours. I highly recommend him, he really pushes you to believe you can succeed in a class you're having difficulty with

Spring 2016 I found him to be a great professor. His quizzes are easy because the questions are from the HW. I would take him again. He also shows a cool demonstration with liquid nitrogen.I would recommend him! Listen! do the HW! you'll be fine! He makes a powerpoint packet which helps! He cares for students and is really helpful in office hours!

Chemistry is a tough subject so you have to pay attention and come to class if you want to pass. He answers any questions you have and explains things clearly. You have homework every night. It is not graded but the ?'s on the quizzes are from the homework. Come to class, take notes, and ask questions. You should be fine.

Good professor. Do the homework assignments and show up to class and you'll do fine. His exams can be a little difficult but that might have only been because I don't like chem that much. He will help if you just as him and be respectful. His note packet is really helpful.

I had him for chemistry 101 lab and I absolutely loved him. I thought he had such a great personality and he is so helpful. I wish I had him for chem lecture as well. He gives one 8 point quiz at the beginning of class and if you come late you miss the chance of taking the quiz so make sure you get there on time! Loved this man.

Not easy but he curves tests so a D is really a C in the grade book. I would recommend showing up to class because he gives in class assignments every so often. quizzes are easy just memorize the H.W questions. Text is easy to read so do it! I liked him, too bad I changed my major no more Chem needed other wise I'd take him and only him again

The worst professor I've ever had. I've never taken chemistry in HS so I studied as hard as I could, went to tutoring every night, saw him in office hours, etc. He told me to my face that he didn't know what to do when I failed my first exam. Absolutely horrible!

Class is difficult but if you invest time into it you will do well. Be prepared to use the book a lot, as exams were literally pulled from the homework. Concepts will be difficult and I found the beginning of the semester to be the toughest (you start out with gen chem conversion mathematics which I haven't done in ages). Available for help a lot.

Loved him! He was so kind and helpful for lab. Every time I had a problem, he took time out to explain to me in a way I understood. I just wish he taught lecture too. I probably would have gotten an A if he did. He actually made me enjoy chemistry.

This professor is the polar opposite of one I had the previous semester. Kupchella is not broken - actually warm - but his lectures completely fail to appeal to non-science majors (which is how that class was advertised). Nice guy, but doesn't work the angle of how his material should be useful to us. Ultimately, those lectures are a waste of time.

Very hard class, but he's a very helpful professor. If I didn't understand something he was always willing to help.His exams are extremely hard. Our 3rd exam was the Monday before finals (last day of class) and our cumulative final was 2 days later. He seems to think his class is the only class his students are taking with the work load he gives.

I did well in the first two exams. The last one and the final were in the final week, so I could not know what I got. But he gave me a B for final grade! Based on the first two exams, I was in the top 3 of the class. I dont know why!He does not teach much in class. He asks us to read the book and do a few problems.

Comment:

Doesn't have to be a hard class as long as you keep up with the homework and go to class. If you miss, you will fall behind, guaranteed. Homework = Quizzes = Tests. Basically if you do the homework assigned every class you'll be fine!!..I didn't and that's what got me in trouble. HE'S A VERY HELPFUL AND VERY NICE GUY! ;D Good Luck!!
