Comment:

Tough grader and takes off points for minor things or if you answer something the way she wouldnt even if its still right. Lots of homework. Does give extra credit but its so time consuming and difficult. Always comes in late wont cancel classgets a sub. Spent all of my time in the tutoring center, worked hard and still came out with a C.

Comment:

Dr. Kay is an amazing professor and an even more amazing person. I've had her for multiple statistics courses; although it was difficult at first, she was always really helpful and made sure the entire class could keep up before moving on. She is a tough grader and makes you work, but I have learned so much from her and her classes.

Comment:

Very nice woman but makes the class much more difficult than it should be. Unbelievable amount of homework. Very hard test/quiz grader and the final is cumulative. She teaches directly from the notes which are 20-30 pages long. You basically have to teach yourself the entire course.

She came in late every single class. We would have a daily point assignment that she would wait to assign until it was time to go so that's inconvenient if you have class immediately after. She had subs come in to teach rather than cancel. Lots of homework, projects, group work, quizzes, etc. Grades extremely hard, takes points off for minor things

Dr. Kay really seems like she is a smart woman, but she reads mostly straight from her notes and does not offer much explanation outside of that. She always looks like she's distracted and off in space, and laughs awkwardly when nothing is funny. Quizzes are long and straight from homework (at least for this class). Tests mimic homework problems.

She is very nice and easy to talk to. This class is great for someone who is awful at math related subjects because she will find a way to help you pass. Her tests are difficult due to how she grades. If you are looking for an A try a different professor.

The content of this class was not at all difficult. I took this class over the summer and could not manage an A (I'm an ambitious student). Be prepared to explain a data set appropriately and still lose points if not exactly to her liking. She is an extremely harsh grader.

If you take this class in the summer, be ready to stay very busy. She is really nice, but teaches the material quickly and does not curve exams. If you are a visual learner, do not take her. She pretty much reads her prepared notes.

I worked REALLY hard in there and I think I got a B. She's more than fair.she did NOT accuse people, she only asked me if i had help and if it was obvious people cheated there isn't much you can do no matter how nice! She's VERY nice and Stats is a difficult subject, especially for non math people like me.. work hard, and you'll definately be fine!

Even though it was difficult for me, I learned a lot in Dr. Kay's class. Some may be bitter because they were caught cheating, but I'm glad she discovered their dishonesty. They should earn their grade the right way--through doing their own work. Study hard and you'll do fine.

Dr. Kay is amazing. She can explain ideas extremely well, and is surprisingly well at deriving formula with very little sleep. The quizzes and test are typical for most stats classes. She's an extremely fun teacher to have.

Nice attitude, but completely inflexible. Students must have taken advantage of her in the past to make her that way. Not the hardest class in the world, however lots of busy work. Barely got an A even after making A's on nearly everything. You figure it out; I couldn't.

She made a lame subject really great. She hands out perfect notes and always is willing to help. She is such a sweetheart. She has 3 small kids so she knows how to be caring and understanding of special circumstances. you will love her!
