A lot of readings, which are useless. Easy grader, interesting class, harsh teacher.

She is very passionate when she is teaching. However, if you don't share the same views as her you will be able to tell when you see your grade. She also requires SO MUCH READING, hours worth every week. You must do the reading because you have to hand them in every week and get graded on them.

Although the class itself is extremely interesting and everyone should be required to take it, the amount of reading she gives is unacceptable. It is like she expects us to devote every second of our waking lives to her readings. If it weren't for the amount of readings, I would actually like her.

Her classes are intensely demanding both in and out of lectures. She is a very nice and incredibly intelligent person, but you will spend every free moment reading and doing assignments... and possibly fall behind in other classes while trying to keep up. Be prepared to give your entire brain's capacity to her classes.

Way too demanding of a class for the number of hours in the course, Should be semester-long course instead of a half-semester with all the information required.

Such a long and boring course. She just keeping piling the work on like crazy. No matter the course, it will be a multicultural course (which I admit is necessary, but at the same time, I didn't need 3). Incredibly disorganized.

Comment:
Course outline long and confusing. Reading requirements incredulous. Makes us hand in our notes to be checked, as if we are in grade school. Adds work at the last minute, hasmake up classes, regardless if you have another course at that time. Every course is a social justice course. Tends to speak over your head. Be prepared to spend a lot of $

She is great. Yes, she gives a lot of work but the assignments are relatively simple. She is fair and always available for discussions. She should be the Dean of Education.

Multicultural Education, 2002: disorganized but very kind and sincere, respectful of different views. A lot may have changed since I had her.

Very disorganized. And yes, EVERY course, no matter what the outline says, will be about multiculturalism. An unnecessary amount of repetitive work. A 3 hour class will last at least 3 hours.

Great course! Yes she expects a lot but its not hard, its time consuming! The greatest thing about her is that she lets you think outside the BOX. I can relate to her class a lot! Very interesting!

Very intelligent and passionate but she expects ALOT from her students and will reward those who have the time to put alot of thought into her classes. Its unfortunate that she is hypocritical in what she says and the way she teaches but it is ultimately because she "gets it" and just really REALLY wants her students to "get it" too. Shes inspiring

I feel sorry for all who think that the work load in these courses is too much.In reality it is a completly normal workload for an undergraduate degree;although many in Education at Bishop's may not agree.I suggest trying courses from other disiplines and universities.Lisa was the best prof.in education that I had at Bishop'sI actually had to think

By far one of the best profs at the school. She challenges her students to see the world from it's fringes... & we all emerge changed by the experience. Her message is clear, her mission is admirable, & she truly cares about her students, & all students! Students will need to open their eyes & hearts to see that learning is worth the investment!

Now...did I just take Socio or Multicultural? Because its the same course! She needs to realize that if you`re going to teach socio, then teach it separately from m/c educ. Also..the course load is equivalent to a master`s class...in an education MINOR. Interesting prof with a vision and message, but needs to tone down her course load a lot
