Comment:

Professor Heckler is a great teacher! His research is in how people learn physics so he is very in tune with the difficulties that students have with the classes he teaches. He is very willing to help, not just during office hours but any time. I had him for both 131 and 133 and he was great for both classes!

He is a tough professor but he is willing to help you! He may expect you to learn more then you want to at times but he is helping you to think like you need to in order to pass the next class in physics! people need to stop bashing him and just work hard.

I think it would be a little unfair to completely bash on Dr. Heckler. He is a great professor, but quantum physics and special relativity are very abstract sciences. He explained everything the best any physicist can at this point and for some people that just isn't enough. The biggest thing is to make use of your TA's during recitation.

Good professor. Make use of your TA's for questions on the webwork and homework assignments, but asking Heckler before class will definitely help out. If you dont understand something, ask, and he tends to be able to clarify things. His demos are cool.

He had a fairly exciting, but ultimately useless lecture. I didn't even go to lecture the last 3 weeks. I actually enjoyed the material by itself though, so I would have enjoyed it more if he actually taught more. I guess he's pretty good 1 on 1, but I never went to his office hours - I liked my TA much better for that.

Good prof. doesn't spend a lot of extra time on problems, goes through things pretty quick but does does well explaining why things are like they are in reality, doesn't do as well explaining how it works on paper. definitely keeps you interested and makes it fun.

AHeckler = Amazing. He made me want to go to Phsics Leccture... which is a feat, if you know me. He kept things fun, and was always open to, and encouraged, questions during class. He seemed to love helping students work things out, and was great one-on-one in his office hours. I'd have him again if I could.
