Prof Stewart is passionate and knowledgable. There are a few papers but no tests. Discussion posts based on readings are a large part of your grade. He's looking for you to understand the material and make connections. He's been nice to me in our interactions and seems to care about students but he can be condescending to certain students in class.

Prof Stewart really cares about the material he teaches. There is a lot of reading, but it's not heavy. If you miss a few assignments, there's still a chance for you to get a 4.0 or 3.7. He tries to give feedback on everyone's discussion board posts and one-pagers. Overall, a great professor that likes you to dig deeper into the material.

He grades brutally based on how "in depth an analysis is" even though there's not much more anyone could say without it being far fetched. Useless information if you go much further than basic textbook concepts.

I really wanted to love this class but Prof Stewart makes it way too difficult. We are given an absurd amount of homework- as if we don't have any other classes. He is also a tough grader. Expect many assignments each week and hours of reading required in order to do the assignments. This class is just not as enjoyable as it could be.

Comment:
Prof Stewart gives a lot of assignments that count for very little of your grade, and majority of your grade is based off participation. His expectations are unclear and he can be a little disrespectful in the way he talks to his students. He cares a lot about his work, but can definitely benefit from learning a different perspective.

A great professor. Has a powerful voice that keeps you engaged. Short quizzes almost every class in the beginning, not hard if you read. I hate group projects, but I found his useful and even enjoyable. My group had no problems with our project grades, but I know that many others have. Participation is 20% but I barely participated and got a 3.7

Prof Stewart is passionate about what he teaches and passed that along to students. Expectations are clearly set and if you just put in the effort, you'll do really well. Video lectures he posts help support the articles/other reading. Overall, great professor and I hope I get the chance to take a course with him again.

High school musical is becoming a TV show in 2019 and I can't help but feel like Marcus is at fault for this! Besides being a tough grader, Marcus is a very sweaty person and always has pit stains, which can get very distracting. He is reliving his glory days of being on the Bentley basketball team. Looks like a turtle! 0/10 would not recommend! :)

Worst professor I have ever had. He is an easy grader on the materials that don't matter and then extremely brutal on important assignments. Gave us 17 minutes to complete a 30 question quiz (weekly). He gives vague feedback and has high expectations near impossible to meet. A lot of pointless tasks that are clearly busy work. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Unless you're very good at class participation and love reading about common sense, do not take him! You will spend 4 hours reading each chapter but the quiz and the professor focus only on part of it so it's a waste of time. Other than that, very petty man. "every class is a performance"- direct quote

I enjoyed having class and getting to know Marcus. He used to work on Wall Street before becoming a professor so he gets the whole "Bentley student." Definitely not an easy teacher, but the good ones never are. I earned my 3.3 and hope to keep in touch with him.

Unreasonably difficult. Focused on random details found in chapters for quizzes, meaning if you haven't read the chapter twice you wont be able to do well on his quizzes. He calls people out in class in a very rude way and is quite condescending. Made me dread going to class.

Marcus is a terrible professor who has never had any real world experience. His lectures are confusing and dull. He gives pop quizzes and never gives full credit on them because he is never 100% satisfied with an answer. He also cares way to much about class participation and expects you to speak multiple times each class. Do not take!!

Marcus is a terrible teacher. He knows his material, but presents it in a way that does not benefit any students. All we did was discuss chapters. There were quizzes in which you could never give him a satisfactory answer. He never answers a question straightforward. His quiz questions are about specific details found within an entire chapter.

Prof. Stewart is a great guy! The class material in my opinion was very boring, but he tries his best to explain it as clearly as possible. He gives pop quizzes after most readings to make sure you are reading the chapters. The class has a lot of group assignments, but he is willing to change/discuss grades if you make your case

Tough grader, expect extremely low participation grade if you never speak up, which is 15% of your total. Pop quizzes everyday!!!
