Margo is the worst teacher I have ever taken, She teaches like a level 300 class. Boring for 3 hours and never lets you out early. Lecture has nothing to do with exams or papers. Awful and would never take her again

Comment:

Margo is a fantastic person. She cares about her students as people, is accommodating, & hilarious. But, don't take this unless you really care about the class. It's HARD. Very few assignments, but they are time-consuming. Take a different class to fill your art requirement. Tough grader but VERY accessible for extra help. Gives extensions.

Comment:

Lectures were long (3 hours!) and boring. Not very helpful as you can email her all you want but you probably will never get a response. Only way you can ask for help is speaking to her in person right after class. There is a final project/paper along with a mid-term and final. Overall, just not a very enjoyable class.

She starts the semester off as very intimidating but at the end of the semester she is awesome and really kind. Her exams are not too hard and there is extra credit directly onto the exams from participation and extra questions. She is tough on essays. It takes slight effort but you can get an A. I always recommend her. 4 free absences too.

Margo is great! She was very helpful with assisting with my paper when I was stuck and had no idea what to do. She speaks fast, so you need to be able to take notes either quickly or with key words. if you participate you get extra credit on the tests! (cumulative final! be scared)

Dr. Stavros is an alright teacher. She takes the research papervisual recreation project too seriously. If you aren't Picasso just do the paper. She gave me such a hard time on my topic. Her lectures are boring and expects you to know every detail. The class itself wasn't terrible but Dr. Stavros is. She tries to be helpful but comes off mean.

Comment:

Cares a lot about her students, and makes learning about boring American Art subjects fun with her witty commentary. She rambles too much in lectures, but you'll learn to pick out key words and phrases that mean "this is going to be a multiple choice question on an exam." Type your notes, don't handwrite, you won't be able to keep up. Lovely lady!

Margo is awesome. Very laid back and really interesting. Attendance is key. 4 papers that are two pages max, and three exams, all extremely easy. If you do the reading the day before the exam you will be fine. Easiest class to take to fufill your core. Take her, it will be one ofthe best decisions you will ever make

Margo's class was the best class i took last year. I definitely learned the most because she sets out to help you learn skills. Her class requires a lot of effort due to long assignments but by the end of the year all her students agree that she is an excellent teacher. She is very understanding and will give extensions. Definitely great professor

American Art is kind of a boring subject, but Margo made it more interesting. She's pretty funny, knowledgeable, and she is pumped when you input your own information on whatever art you're studying. don't miss class, everything she says is on the test, all multiple choice. Margo is the best.

I don't understand why she has a smiley face. Foundations with her last year was pure hell. She's rude and corrects people with their grammar while they're talking, rips you apart if you don't agree with her, and never hands back anything. She failed me on my term paper because i submitted it to Turnitin like ten minutes late. Avoid avoid avoid.

Margo is super helpful! she is a really tough grader but she really does her best to let us know what her expectations of us are. She also adds alot of office hours to when we have big papers due so she can help us. I like that she makes her standards known. That being said she really likes it when you participate.

Comment:

Margo is a wonderfully pleasant and sweet person, but her teaching methods are rediculous. She never hands anything back but expects you to keep up with the outrageous amounts of work she assigns. If you don't agree with her on something, she spends an antire class tearing you down and making you feel useless and stupid. AVOID.

She is the worst professor I have had. She assigns a rediculous amount of work, and never hands back any papers before the next ones are due, so you can never learn from your mistakes. She expects so much from her students, but doesn't give you the tools to meet her expections. If you want to do well in Foundations don't take her class.

Comment:

Margo is awesome! She wants you to call her Margo because she wants to be on the same level as her students. She actually cares for her students and wants everyone to do well, but you have to approach her. She is available whenever you need her, participating is key in the class but you get used to it after a while. She grades tough but means well.
