Comment:
This was the worst professor I've ever had at CSUN. He went off topic constantly and his lectures were a mess. No one knew what was going on ever. Only about five people showed up to class consistently by the end of the year because this class was a waste of time. I attended regularly and did all the work and still struggled. Drop the class!

Whatever he goes over during class will be on the tests. He's very helpful and is open to questions if you're confused. As long as you take notes on what he goes over you'll be able to pass. He lets you know what you should know/remember for the tests and emails a study guide. Funny and nice professor!

He honestly didn't teach me anything. He goes over homework in class and doesn't even do most of the problems correctly. He is a really kind, little, and sweet man though so it is a shame to be rude to him. He curves his tests and tries to help during the test. Honestly, without my tutor I wouldn't have passed for sure. I do not reccomend.

I'll say that he's a solid professor for Math 103 (due to his curve and test), but at the same time he is mediocre where he doesn't even give lectures. All he does is go over the homework and teach us there. I barely learn something in his class, but because I had some knowledge of math and help from one of my classmate, I barely manage to passed.

Not a difficult class, but definitely difficult with this professor. Lectures can be tough to follow and there is a decent amount of homework. Messy handwriting and short attention span make lectures difficult to follow. I got a tutor and did well but would recommend trying to find another professor.

This was one of my horrible classes in CSUN. Very difficult not just because the Math 103 is difficult but because the professor also made it very difficult. I recommend if possible to skip this professor. It is time for him to retire, his very old. I barely passed this class with a C.

His lectures are whatever, but he goes over problems before a test which are the same ones on a test just different numbers. Only had 3 tests and he drops the lowest ones. Homework is once a week or every other week and its pretty easy, it is online. He cracks funny jokes sometimes and will make you laugh.

While he isn't the most amazing teacher ever, the grading is really clear and if you know how to study you'll definitely pass. He grades really fairly, just beware you may need to teach yourself. Really sweet guy

Does not prepare you well for tests. Expects you to know material beforehand and calls on students randomly. Always late to class, but lets you out early sometimes. VERY MESSY HANDWRITING. You learn through XYZ homework.

He is a really nice guy. Was confusing at times but overall not that difficult. He gives you a lot of time and there is tutoring ava. in the math department. Tests are a hit or miss deal. I suck at math but passed with a C so I believe anyone can do it if you try.

Assigns optional homework (not required to turn in). He will clearly explain if you are unsure about any material. Gives great reviews before tests but generally 1 or 2 questions on tests that are not on review. Tests r tough. Extra credit n 1 take home test. I averaged a high Clow B on tests but got an A in class due to extra credit and curve.

uhm.. half the time I had no idea what was going on in class. He's notes are unclear and he can't teach in my opinion. If you can teach yourself then go for it because his tests are easy. The only way I received an A is because he was a fair grader and I taught myself the whole time.

Dr. Soule is very intelligent and able to say the same thing in a variety of different ways to better explain a concept, if you ask questions and speak up when you are confused. He's done this for a hundred years and he knows his stuff! However he does teach by examples, be aware. He is always available during office hours. Would take again.

Basically, if you are the type of person who can study and learn material on your own, you will probably do well. However if you depend 100% on the teacher and simply cannot teach yourself mathematics, then you may have a tough time. His lectures can be confusing, but it helps to study before lectures. It just depends on the type of student you are

This professor is way out there. His test are hard, he gives study guide for them which depending on his mood can be similar questions are the complete opposite. He HEAVILY curve on the test and he also tries to assignment HW for extra points. He does go on tangent so be prepare.

Well, yea, this guy really can't teach. BUT. It does make a difference weather or not you pay attention and actually put in some effort to decipher what he's saying. His study guides are extremely helpful, and he curves tests like there's no tomorrow. So overall, just be wary if you have him.

Expect to get homeworks, in class-exams, and eventually take home exams. Not very clear, gives test review materials but exams are nothing like the review materials.

He did not know the subject before teaching the class. Routinely embarks on personal anecdotes that have NOTHING to do with the class at hand. Tests are not as easy as his in ability would suggest they should be. Went to his office hours for help but instead he started telling me about his skin cancer and asked me how to decode video. Awful!

Hard to stay awake, but at least he speaks loud enough to not be confused with WHAT he said. The material he teachers is a lot more difficult to learn when he explains it though
