Comment:

Shes a real gem. OCD like myself so everything is extremely clear and orderly. She truly wants everyone to do well in class. If you need extra time on an assignment shes more than willing to accommodate. She doesnt take down points for participation and is always extremely helpful. A teacher who really cares, so refreshing!

Comment:

Martine Rife was an awesome teacher. Sometimes it is a little bit hard to figure out what she wants you to do in the directions--which is why I gave her 4 stars. However, she's very good at getting back with your questions in email, giving feedback, and just a really nice teacher. She even called me on her own to explain something one time!

I don't know why anybody would down review this professor. I took her class online and it was great and taught me so much. Here's the run down, you turn in your assignments and put forth an effort and read the readings she postes you will get a 4.0. If you can't get a 4.0 in her class then you didn't try. She's a great professor and really nice.

She is an AMAZING teacher!! I highly recommend anyone to take her if you're really about doing your work! If you don't do your work and follow the critiques of writing then yes you will fail but it's not the teacher fault, it's your own! I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! TAKE HER! You won't regret it, trust me!!

I took her online class and it was difficult because she grades your papers technically. My best advice is to actually talk to her in person and be polite (it goes a long way anywhere). The hardest part was understanding what she wanted from you. If you listen to her, though, your portfolio grade will show.

I have never disliked a teacher and class until I took Martine Rife's Writing 121 course. Already being a fairly gifted writer; the techniques and topics she had me use in my papers were third grade material, and yet she grades your desired third grade paper on a college scale. Aside from course content, she is very hard to follow and very rude.

She was extremely rude and did not want to be helpful at all. I was definitely not impressed even when I met her she doesn't seem to care about anyone but herself. She also grades really hard, your only saving grace is that she gives you extra credit options that will have to do even if you work your butt off.

I took her class online and when i left a bunch of useful feedback to one of my classmates on their paper, she told me to pretty much tone down my feedback. She said just say one thing good and one thing bad. If you are good with that kind of feedback then take the class, if not then stay away.

she was awesome! I Loved her! Im taking 122 right now and I have gone to her for help with those papers! Yeah she is hard, but she is helping your papers! She will not sugar coat anything, but Honestly thats how you get to pass! She tells you awesome info! Her "tips" are very useful!

Martine is the worst professor I had at LCC. I aced the class because I can write well, but her feedback is useless and the 4.0 example papers she uses are a joke. She has no idea what a logical argument looks like. If you have her, write what you want, but do it well because she prefers uncontroversial subjects. Or just switch teachers.

I was a little afraid in the begining with Martine. She was very overwhelming. My first two essays she said were very good, this and that so i thought i was going to get sweet grades. Def. not. I just kept asking her for help and it def. paid off i got a 3.5 and i love Martine! Its a little scary at first though but i wish she taught 122

I thought I was doing very well in the class because I kept getting full credit or close to full credit on all my papers. She gave me little feedback on my papers to help me. When I turned my papers in for the portfolio, I failed. I appealed my grade, and ended up getting 3.5. I am normally a 4.0 student. I found the class worthless.
