Jeckerbyrne is the worst prof I've ever had. He loses his train of thought every 30 seconds and teaches the same lecture every class with no collaborative class discussion or slides. He doesn't assign clear due dates for anything, he just posts multiple essays all at the same time. He's a nice guy, but genuinely should not be allowed to teach.

He does the same lecture every class period and can have a rude tone when speaking in person and through email. Doesn't thoroughly give instructions regarding assignments just expects you to figure it out. Don't take him.

He is awful. There is no syllabus and he doesn't teach. The classes are so boring and I haven't learned anything yet. Ive cried in class a few times because of how much I don't like matt. He loosely explains assignments and the rest is up to you. Save yourself and don't take his class.

He has a PhD, and to me that is both scary and enlightening because if he can do it, anyone can. He does not use a textbook, give a syllabus or teach ANYTHING. He's a nice guy, I just don't think he should be teaching.

His lectures were all over the place. He didn't give a syllabus. When I asked him why there wasn't one, he said they "hold him back." However, he constantly would repeat the same class material each class and ask if we covered it yet. He mostly talked about his life though. He doesn't give rubrics either. He only reads your intro and conclusion.

Professor Jeckerbyrne is an easy Professor but you do not learn much in his class. He goes off topic a lot and does not give clear and in depth feedback on assignments. You will also not see grades on assignments on blackboard. I only saw grades for the midterm and final.

He teaches the same lecture over and over again and is not open to other people's opinions. He likes to talk about himself a lot. He did not assign a textbook. I thought he was okay until he said a solution for social inequality was to put a bunch of old clothes, furniture, and food into a shipping crate and "send it to India". Don't take him

Don't do it!! He doesn't know how to grade essays, he changes the assignments even after you've finished it, and he doesn't even teach the topic. I took Sociology with him at the Kingston Center and all he talked about was his life. . . was I supposed to learn something?.. I didn't. Only to never take his class again.

Does not give feedback to help improve your grade. Pulls grades from the sky. Entered midterm grades late or not at all so I had no idea how I was doing the course until I got my final grade. He does not give extra credit. Lectures make absolutely no sense. I will not take any classes with him again!

To be fair some people really liked him, but I found him to be boring. I wouldn't say this is an easy A. Don't get me wrong it's easy bc there are few assignments, but the grading policy is sloppy so he just gives random final grades which is kind of aggravating. He seems like a great person, but I don't think he should be teaching.

he is a nice guy. he's also empty-minded. no discussion. no feedback on any assignment. does the same exact ramble every class. disorganized. no structured grading policy. no learning. playing a game of monopoly was our final. sounds easy, but i received a B+ on the final with no explanation. no doubt the worst prof I've ever had

he's kinda nice, but I'm not impressed with what he has to say. he doesn't seem like he has a lot to offer and never really has a plan in class. his grading policy makes no sense. he's a good guy and all, but he shouldn't be teaching.

DON'T! this class is easy, but he is a terrible professor. Nice dude, but don't expect to learn anything. Just rambles about himself and how insightful he is when in reality he doesn't seem like an educated person...avoid, avoid, avoid

May be one of the most lazy professors I've ever had. After about the first month of classes, he teaches the same lecture over and over again for the remainder of the semester. Will give you a poorer grade if you disagree with him. Brags about how he can do whatever he wants in the classroom, which for him means: nothing. Boring. Easy A though.

he is in no position to teach. he doesn't seem to care about class opinion and is never organized. you won't learn because he has no knowledge to share. probably the worst prof I've ever had. The class is very easy, but hopefully you're looking for more than an easy A...

I love him! Yes, he does lecture the whole time, but I have him at 8am and it's really not that bad. You just take notes as he lectures, then use those notes to write your short papers. Easy class, ,easy person to get along with. He understands that life happens, very hard to find in a college professor.

He doesn't know much about the subject. He's a nice guy and it was an easy class, but he's just a bad educator. He rambles about the same thing every class and there's no class discussion. I have a little journal for all of the crazy things he says. The other soc profs at new paltz are great so avoid this teacher at all costs if you wanna learn

easy professor but absolutly horrible to sit through. i have never been more miserable in a class in my life. No one has any idea what he is talking about. no real notes or textbook use. He has too many other responsibilities outside class to be a real helpful professor. All he talks about is all the other volunteer work he does outside class

This class was not hard at all. Jeckerbyrne is a good professor. He doesnt use textbooks. All of the readings are on blackboard. No EXAMS just papers, same goes for the midterm and final. If you go to his office hours he will help you which can result in a better grade. He is easy to approach.
