I'm gonna fail this class cus he gave 7 books to read & a paper after each 1. Too much material covered for just 1 semester. However, he is an AMAZING man. I have never been so touched to meet such an intelligent person. 1 of the 3 smartest ppl I've ever met. He told us he's dying of liver cancer. I would take it just to get the chance to meet him.

SO funny and educated and loves to teach. No tests, just papers. No "attendance", but there is a groupwork assignment given every other day and if you aren't present you get points off. All he wants from your writing is evidence that you're trying to make conclusions by analyzing the things he mentions/you read about. So show up and brainstorm

this guy is awesome! he made this course very interesting, and is also very big on groupwork, which allows you to interact with and get to know other classmates. He also teaches the lesson so we can understand it, and he has a great sense of humor

I learned more from him than any of the other professors I ever took. I enjoyed every class! I hated when he showed movies, because I wanted him to speak more in front of the class. He loves to joke around, which sets everyone at ease. The class was difficult, he wants his papers detailed with examples and cites, but that's the hardest part.

What to say about Professor Burdett... He is a great guy, he loves making jokes both at you and the topic being discussed. He assigned about 3-4 papers and three of them were allowed to be group work. All of his tests are open book. I was assured to receive a B+ minimum to an "A" and got a "C". That's my only complaint.

I took several of Prof. Burdett's classes in the late 80's/early 90's. Looking back, although his were among the most difficult classes I took, I learned more from him than most of my other professors. I later went on to law school, and I am sure that but for some of the things Burdett taught me, I would have had a much more difficult time.

Take home tests yes! but you must write them in extreme detail, with references. does not repeat anything. at all. kind of as ass about it. im taking him in the summer. had 2 papers within 5 weeks with one week left in the semester assigns 2 papers and a term paper!

This Professor is Horrible.i finished High School with a 97 average and he tells me that I cannot write a history paper. He gives out 2 topics and you have to pick one and them in in GREAT DETAIL explain. 3 papers in Total. He is one of the Editors of the Core books and thinks that he is funny. If you can STAY AWAY from him.Take Prof. Tesho instead

Took him Freshman semester, and was blown away. Expected all prof's to be as cool and indepth/passionate about their subject. 2 Years later I can say that is not always the case, and he has continued to be the model to which i judge my professors. Wish I could take cor-100 again. I thoroughly enjoyed every class.

very good prof. the best, easy grader but you need to write his papers exactly how long he needs it, 2-3 pages, as long as its about that topic and pages you definitely get an A. most recommended.
