He is one of the better teachers in the school. I think he wants everyone to do well. Just go to class and pay attention and participate once in while. For exams-review class notes and hw problems (which he goes over on class). The exams are a bit tricky but he gives partial credit generously. Overall the class was a good learning experience.

Although the class isn't easy, Prof. Katowitz is a great teacher. He's knowledgeable about the subject and is hands down the funniest prof. I've ever had. You'll work hard for your grade and you must attend class to succeed, but you'll learn a lot. He's also the first prof. I've had at this school who took the time to learn everybody's name.

I thought this class was great. Tough but fair. I never heard him disparage a student for a wrong answer and certainly never heard him call anyone "stupid." He was perfectly respectful of everyone but he does get annoyed if people walk in late . He learns all the students names. Tests are easy if you take notes on the class problems.

I liked this class. You have to read the textbook and take very good notes on the problems he goes over in class. The tests are just variations of the problems but slightly trickier.

Very rude. Calls stupid those students who do not participate, realizing that we work all day and have another class before him. Changes topic every time he doesnt know an answer to the question. Appears funny at first, but then keeps repeating the same jokes over and over. Does not respond to neither emails or phone calls! Stay away!

Professor Katowitz proves why you never trust a lawyer. By all indications he seems like he is a good guy and wants to help his students, but in all actuality its not true. Worked hard in the class and ended up with a grade I didn't expect. This isn't law school and you aren't training future lawyers LAW9800 is way harder than it should be...

The professor has an ability to make an otherwise brutally boring subject lively & interesting, through use of humor. I read some folks that didn't appreciate it; I thought it worked. I took the final last night. Exams are hard, but that's because Law is hard. Make no mistake: you'll have to work hard in this class. Read. Attend class. Take notes!

VERY heavy textbook use, 1st half of the course (mid-term) was much harder than the 2nd half (final). There were some absurd questions but were real actual cases. He makes an otherwise brutal topic interesting, ex-wife stories hilarious, class attendance a must, good notes crucial. Innate ability to remember all of the girls' names, first AND last.

He is a very funny professor who makes jokes and entertains his students. But exams are not as nice as his personality so be prepared. His ex-wife might have given him a hard time but it ironically makes his lecture amusing. Textbook usage is heavy so get cheap used books when they are available.

Great Professor, hard material but Katowitz made it as easy as possible. Go to class and listen. Tells jokes here and there to keep people interested. Do the practice problems and familiar urself with the concept and format. Exam is pretty much the same as the problems but based on real life cases and little more tricky. Gives partial credits.

Lot's of jokes, but don't be fooled. He is a lawyer with a past. I'm sure you will learn about it in addition of learning all you need to know about agency, partnership, and corporations. Medterm, designed by professor in form of essays, is harder then departmental final. Read chapters as many times as you need to understand and remember.

I can't say that he is passionate about teaching law, in which he is a professional. Furthermore, as a person he is a nice man but is very fond of himself, and is not a figure to seek help/advice from. Basically, you have to read all of the material and try to listen closely in class for tips. This class is a VERY BROAD approach to bus. corp. law.
