definitely cracks dad jokes and very often says "its all good" so much so i found myself saying it. He's really easygoing, and super patient and helpful for all of us non tech types. He knows what he's doing and he knows when to slow things down. I learned a lot about Adobe software because of this class. You will have to pay $120 for subscription

Does not give much feedback, lectures are not interesting at all. Make it your business to question your grade and ask for feedback on work. this is more so a class of learning the basics of saving storing and filing your work. Is not open for discussion much so come to listen.

I don't get it.. I got an A+ in this class. It was Photo 1 and I've used a camera for quite some times. He gives good critiques when you ask for them. Tests are fundamental.. He is a photography and digital designer. Idk how he's gotten such bad reviews. Easy class, easy going teacher. Projects are simple enough. In fact told me he likes my work.

Gave me a C- when my grade should have been an A refused to change it Haig refused to help because they are friends. Had to have several meetings with the Art Chair finally she changed it to an A-. I am not the first person who has had this problem. It is unfortunate that towson doesnt have anyone else teach these classes because you will need it.

I agree completely with the other postings. Hard to take notes because he never fully explains how to do things, do not ask him to repeat or explain anything, he will get very upset. No office hours. Isnt a photographer but teaches the class-only at towson. Doesnt have a knowledge of the new equipment. Always seems to be nicotine deprived (Cranky).

I am currently taking my third class with Randy and I couldn't be happier about it. He is very informative about all aspects of art. He does a great job with teaching photoshop by allowing you to go through it step by step. Not a tough grader, he just wants you to show some creativity.

awful professor. refuses to explain grades, gives no critiques, grades on arbitrary criterea that is not mentioned, treats you like a dick when you ask for an explaination of your grade. impossible to get an A without being a tool. grades VERY subjectively and according to whether or not he likes you. towson will be better once he's gone.

Whenever he is asked for critique or imput he will not have anything to say. Will either say uh yeah thats good or um yeah youre working. If you ask for help or clarification he will not answer your question. If you keep inquiring he will act like you are trying to steal nuclear secrets. Like was said previously DONT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HIM!!!!!!!!

Go to MICA or UMBC for this class. You will learn more from any book than you will from this man. Critiques/help not avaliable in this class. I wish he missed my class. Instead spent the first hour of every class giving an apple or nikon promotional speech. Pretends to leave projects open to students but will mark down if you cant read his mind.

Had him last year, hardly ever in class due to family issues. Became irrated if he had to repeat something stated in class. His critiques were not helpful; said very little. I learned more through the T. A. I suggest taking this class with someone else.

Randy is good with the technical aspects of digital photography. Critiques are his shining weakness, so if you are looking for meaningful feedback, don't take him. You have to pry useful comments from him, he downs traditional photo almost every class
