Dr. Allain is a great professor, I love his class and him as a teacher. We have class discussions and groups activities. If you are struggling or have a problem ask him and he will help you. As long as you do the activities and participation you will do well on the test.

Great teacher. Explains material in-depth. Very clear. Outside work is very easy. Just pay attention in class and do your extensions and takeaways and you'll pass easy.

He allows you to do a reassessment for each standard. You have one standard per chapter. He is a good professor. He does give little feedback. Some of his standards involve problems that we have not seen. His class is passable but by any means not easy.

I think the class was beneficial in learning programming language, something like computational physics. Although, he gave little to no feedbacks on the assignments, quizzes, and tests. It was especially demotivating for me to receive a grade with no inputs. When I asked for more explanation at his office, he shouted why I was still at his office

Comment:
Dr. Allain did not do well in lecturing this class. His grading criteria was not clear, and he refused to give feedback on lab reports or exams because "students don't read it." On lab reports, if you do not do something extra that was not in the lab, the maximum grade you receive is a 90. He makes that clear on the first day of class.

Comment:
Grading scale is vague at best. An 'assessment' every week, and you get a 'grade' from 0-4. Difficult to impossible to get a 4 on an assessment, as he will nitpick anything out of your answers to dock you points. You can make 'video reassessments' and email them to him for credit, but don't expect a good score. Too vague and grades too hard.

If I have a time machine, I would go back in time and un-enroll from his class. He is "Chinese Sheldon Cooper" knows nothing at all and can't explain at all.

Summer class so went fast. Must do homework to keep up. His online youtube videos are very helpful but only if you've attempted the homework or read the book first. Wants you to understand material rather than just get the right answer

he is not a good teacher especially for a 101 course. he doesnt explain how to get the answer and half the time we arent even sure what is the correct answers. his test arent that bad if you do the study guide, but his final is over everything and he doesnt give a study guide for it.............i wouldnt take him again

Dr. Allain is pretty awesome. He makes you come to conclusions yourself which can be really frustrating at times, but he really helps you learn. His tests are really short, so study and you will be rewarded. Also, read his shirts because they are funny. He's like a real life Sheldon Cooper.

This guy is worthless. I had a full ride to Southeastern and lost it to this man. (2.8 GPA that semester) I studied every night for 5-7 hours and still could not make a grade above a D. His tests are insane and he doesn't teach the material needed to do well on the tests. If you plan on taking him, either a) be a genius or b) take someone else.

He is conceptual rather computational, and he loves his inventions, demos, discoveries. Troy and him are the only one I recommend. Don't take others, they will teach u bible instead of physics.

It may be just me, but I did not learn this semester. I am teaching myself physics instead of being taught. Expects you to know what he's fixin to lecture on then goes on a tangent about star wars. Some like hime. I could not follow. Good luck.

HE IS THE BEST IN THE PHYSICS DEPARTMENT, other professors might be smart, but they don't know how to teach properly...they don't know how to give difficult concepts in easy way..they make easy concepts more and more difficult and difficult even more difficult because they know a lot but don't know how to give them to the student
