Dr. Lott is an amazing individual, he does a lot of in class pop quizzes on the reading but other than that there are three tests throughout the semester which are extremely easy if you've done your reading. Would definitely recommend.

Comment:

Rick is a 10/10 guy! I've taken him for four separate courses and he's been my favorite professor at Arkansas State hands down! He's funny, intelligent, and can make anyone interested in his lectures. He loves to have deep conversations with the class as opposed to simply droning on and on.

Comment:

Quiz each class period over assigned reading. Boring class! The midterm and final were SO hard. But, he curved my 71 on the midterm to a 98! That is the best part about him. Attendance is MANDATORY. He would never actually tell me my grade in the class, does not use blackboard, just would say "about an A" when I would ask him about my grade.

I took him for poetry and drama and he is an easy A. My recommendation is to not buy the book. All of poems we read were easy to find online, save the $60! He talks a lot and drinks a ton of coffee but other than that an easy A. Be sure to show up the class before a test because he goes over what the test has on it but doesn't pass out typed guides

This man is... unique. He once told our class that he "received favors from the girls in the brothel in his neighborhood" when he was young. He talks a lot and then complains about people not talking. His class is REALLY easy if you're willing to read some. I have almost 100% in his class.

Dr. Lott is a really nice guy. He is pretty funny and that keeps the students involved. He gives quizzes for reading (but the answers are on spark notes). The quizzes can help level out the test grade. His syllabus is true to his lesson plan so you'll always know what is going on for the day.

He is old and adorable. he cant get through a class without coffee he is hilarious. If you do the reading youll pass just fine. he often gets lost and says "where the hell was I" like 4 times a class. doesnt use blackboard or even email that i know of, but follows the syllabus to the T.

Dr. Lott is a great teacher, and his expectation were that we actually read the stories so that we gain more knowledge about the culture and authors of the works. The class was basically reading comprehension, and if you take the time to read and understand the stories you will do fine on the quizzes, the class was chill, and he's really nice.

I hated this class with a passion. He doesn't stay on topic during class, he rambles a lot and curses like a sailor. He assigns unreasonable reading assignments. I'm talking 100 pages in 2 days. He refuses to give study guides for tests. Overall, he's not a good teacher.

I had him for World Lit to 1660, I had to drop his class. He curses a lot, rambles a lot, stutters a lot. Could never keep up in his class and it was really easy to not want to go to his class.

I did not study for the first test because I SO underestimated his tests! He is very laid back and fun and amusingly scatter-brained in lectures and I assumed his tests would reflect that. WRONG. You need to study and research the terms he occasionally throws on the board. I did not buy the book and I regret it. There are only 3 test so study hard.

The course I've rated was Honors Comp 1, but I also had him for World Lit. Both classes were extremely easy. No book needed for Comp, but for Lit I only used the book a couple of times. Every story I read off of Spark Notes and had an A. He's hilarious and has a bit of an attitude, but not towards students. Always had me laughing. Love him.

Dr. Lott is an awesome professor. He loves his coffee and his classes mostly consist of a quick-easy quiz and discussion the rest of the class. Being a single parent with a full-time job and a full-time course load, I was able to make an easy A. Hell, if you're that lazy, you can make a B using only sparknotes. Worth taking.

He comes to class most days with an additude. Doesn't seem to want to be there. Doesn't seem interested in student participation. A very boring class. He doesn't cover all the material on the exams. His exams have 2 or 3 essay questions at the end. Will not go out of his way to help students in any way.

Dr. Lott is great. One of few professors I do like. I took him for Creative Writing Poetry and got an A. I loved that we didn't have any textbooks, because I was tired of buying them. About 10 poems over the semester, group discussion on what is good and not, and how to change it. Final was rewriting each of your poems based on suggestions, turn in
