Comment:

I'm a senior graduating this semester with my BA in English. I have never made anything less than a B in an English class. I have never before taken a class with a professor who is so rude, such an incredibly hard grader, and downright scathing. Her feedback makes little to no sense and she constantly contradicts herself. Would NOT recommend, ever.

I only made an A due to her weird extra credit options, but I'm still not sure how I passed at all. The online discussions were make or break for sure! I failed every one of the many revisions of the one paper we worked on (mostly based off of her opinion or an unintentional miswording). Her critiques went beyond tough & into rude & demoralizing.

Would not take again, professor would either give 0's or 50's for every assignment despite it being turned in on time and meeting requirements. Claimed every single paper was plagiarized without solid proof. Do not take her class.

This class is awful. I am a senior and will be graduating this semester with a 3.5 GPA. Except that I won't because I will probably fail this class. Her grading is absolutely horrible and makes me feel bad. I turn in each assignment in tears after hours (yes HOURS) of work knowing that no matter how great I think I did she will give me an F.

I majored in English for my Bachelors. I teach high school English at a coveted school with high ratings. This professor has implied multiple times that I do not grasp basic writing concepts. Her readings were extremely difficult and not scaffolded appropriately, since we had no background knowledge in the sociological theories. Unhelpful and rude.

The course is so overflowing with side documents and links that its insanely difficult to just find the simple step by step of what the professor wants. If you don't do the paper perfectly, the step down to the next tier of grades is abrupt and violent. The readings were interesting but the professor left me uninspired and discouraged to learn.

Professor Reid is by far one of the most confusing professors ever. She gives unclear expectations will not email you to let you know what is the weeks objective. She absolutely hates plagiarism but will give you the chance to make it up and will still give you a 0. She is a very picky grader so be ready to spend a lot of time on her courses.

Robin Reid is by far the WORST professor I have taken in my college career. She has absolutely zero tolerance for plagiarism whether it is intended. You can write an entire paper from your own thoughts, and cite whatever sources you use and she STILL says it is plagiarized and gives you a 0. As well, she is vague on all of her instructions.

She started off pretty tame, not very helpful though, then about halfway through the project I ran into some problems and went to the writing center which told me they can't understand the assignment and then the grad prof walked in and didn't understand and she said ask the teacher. what did she tell me? " If I help you with this you don't learn"

Hardest English Professor at Texas A&M Commerce! Long Online Lectures! No Test but does have some extra credit, 15 Discussion Boards, 3 "Short Essays" and One Final Paper. If you want to pass you HAVE TO GO to her office hours so she can help you out with the assignments! You will regret it if you don't! Good luck taking her!

Dr. Reid was consistent in one thing, she was always unhelpful. Her grading was inconsistent and unclear. The course work was confusing and she made little effort to teach it. Her directions were also confusing and she refused to admit a blaring error that resulted in all but two students failing an assignment. Your work doesn't determine the grade

You will not pass this class if you are male and straight. She is incredibly demeaning, narcissistic, and grades based on how she judges you. I tried to contact her because her directions made no sense and did not get a respond back. My female friend contacted her and got a response almost instantly with clear guidelines on what to do.

The only class I've ever dropped. Expectations were not clear for a paper, and I received practically scathing feedback when I couldn't have known what to expect. She made me feel kinda stupid for the topic I would have chosen. It became very clear to me early on I needed to drop the class and take another course with another professor, so I did.

I took her course because I heard we have similar interest in writing. My excitement died week two of her class when she destroyed my love for English. Ruthless, confusing, and unprofessional, she would ask for one thing and I'd do it exactly to her outline, I'd get a 20 and a paragraph of misspelled chaos of comments lacking in sense. Avoid her!

Dr Reid gives our numerous handouts which spell out her expectations clearly; you must read them in their entirety, however. She is always available with feedback via email and often responds within minutes rather than the next day. Her creative writing course is a workshop style, meaning you turn in your rough work and are graded on improvements.

Absolutely the worst professor I have ever encountered. She has a myopic view of her work, provides 0 useless feedback, and once crossed will grade that student poorly on all assignments. The grading rubric does not match how she grades, so there is no way to know what she is expecting, and the catalog description does not match any of the conten

I can see why they keep her from teaching entry level classes. The department would never get new majors. Her comments on work are unhelpful at best (and usually misspelled) to almost abusive at worst. Her need to prove her self better than her students is irritating and detracts from anything she could have said to help with assignments.

Assignments are unclear and peer feedback is required but not quite helpful. Doesn't look at anything past the front of an assignment and grades arbitrarily, full credit for this half credit for that, maybe Dr. Reid knows what grade I will be receiving from the start of the semester and is just grading towards that.
