Comment:
Absolutely horrible professor. Incredibly disrespectful. I could not understand him to save my life until he said "do you read me?" After he would say this he would gaze into our blank stares and somehow come to the conclusion he made sense. The math department is terrible at creighton, but anybody else other than cheng would be ten times better.

There was nothing better than waking up at 10am on a Tuesday and Thursday morning and knowing every kid who showed up to the 8am class that morning was just as lost as you in the class. Class was pointless cause you couldn't understand him, he is a nice man though. The tests were online, so it made the class bearable during the COVID semester.

The class was kinda a joke. get ready for A. never having a question answered B. hearing DO YOU READ ME? 10 times a class. Overall tests had a practice exam that was pretty much the same. Had two graded homework assignments a week and didn't get a grade on any of them till after the final.

I used to hope a bus would hit me while walking across 24th on my way to class. This class was so horrible, he never explained anything, taught straight from the book, and when you would ask questions he would just tell you to read the book or go to tutoring. If you need it for Magis and have him, drop it and hope for another prof next semester.

Cheng is a pretty uninteresting teacher but he gets the job done. His stats class is probably so easy because of all the covid restrictions putting the tests online. You can pass without going to class but its easier if you do go to class. The reason to take Cheng is because you have to.

DO YOU READ ME? Look: the book on Cheng is written. No one who loves math, or is particularly good at math, takes Math 201. If you are taking him, it's because you have to and want to take something else that you enjoy. You know what you are getting into, so don't complain on the back end. You might get an A, you might get a C, it's whatever.

Actually a nice person who gives more time to do the assignments, but bad teacher. Teaches straight from the book and makes simple concepts hard to understand. Has an accent and quiet voice, but after a while you get used to it. Quizzes are the worst, and sometimes has problems not thoroughly gone over in class. Papers are your time to shine.

He's very hard to understand. He has a heavy accent and is very quiet, so hard to hear. Doesn't explain the curriculum well. If you ask him a question after class he will shut you down and you will not be able to get a word in to discuss your side of the story. Dropped his class after the first couple of weeks. Do not take him.

Very hard to understand him (he has a heavy accent) and the quizzes and tests are more difficult than the homework we are assigned. Basically taught myself the entire course.

Can't even understand what he is saying half of the time (has an accent). Math has always been one of my better subjects, but as of right now I have a C in this class. The only thing helping my grade is the completion points that he gives on homework. Tests are easy to mess up on, got an A in applied calculus. I feel like a colossal dumb-a.

Simply put, Dr. Cheng is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Can't understand him and he gets upset when students ask questions. Tests don't relate to any of the things that were taught in class although you wouldn't know that because it's impossible for anyone to learn anything from him due to his horrendous teaching style.

Very hard to understand. Teaches straight from the textbook, & tests are not like the examples he would use. Never took time to learn names or even acknowledge our presence the whole semester. Extra credit given once & hard. 1 take home exam & 1 part of one. Doesn't understand the questions being asked. More concerned w/ curriculum than students.

Nice guy.... bad teacher, only reads examples from the book. doesn't clarify, gets mad when you ask a question even though he's impossible to understand due to a thick accent. No practice tests, and the difficulty of the homework doesn't even compare to how hard the tests are. If you get him, drop the class, it will save you so much anger.

A good professor but his accent and quietness makes it pretty hard to understand him at times. He'll clarify things if you ask him after class, but all he does in class is lecture. Knows his stuff though.

You can barely understand him because of his accent and due to how old he is (quiet). He never tells you what assignment is due and you honestly never quite know what's going on. On multiple occasions, he assigned over 150 problems due for one class period (took me over 4 hours for only 20 points lol). Be ready to teach yourself & be lost!!

Cheng is so hard to understand but even if I could understand him, it would be so hard to follow. I'm sure he is extremely smart, but I'm not sure how he is a professor. He doesn't answer questions. He makes his quizzes unreasonably hard even when the class is easy. I got 100% on every homework assignment but had a D in the test/quiz category.

Cheng is hard to understand, but if you write down in your notes what he writes on the board, it helps a lot with the homework. He knows what he's talking about. His tests typically have a curveball or two and were a little more difficult than expected. Get outside help from tutors or youtube and you'll get a good grade.

He is a good teacher if you actually like math and are going to listen to lectures. His lectures are really long and boring but if you listen and go through all of the examples he is really straight forward. The exams are not that hard and he doesn't give out that much homework.
