Comment:

Difficult class, if you miss any day it is very hard to catch up. Clear grading criteria and will budge on due dates if the class is hardworking. Around 8 or more assignments with 2-3 major projects, in-class practical. I had a mix of B's and A's and received a B. Very nice professor who is easily accessible, theclass is difficult to get an A in.

Comment:

Great Prof. I have not known other professors that spend time with every single student during class to let them know how to improve their drawing before they turn them in for a final grade. He explains concepts well. Also is very understanding that "life happens" and is always willing to work with students. + plays Led Zeppelin!! YAAASSS!

Comment:

Bautista is an amazing teacher. Sometimes he'll be hard to understand when he critiques your work but he is RIGHT. He is always right. He knows what he's talking about just try to view your work through his eyes or take a step back and look at it again with fresh eyes. He's very nice and funny and truly a good teacher if you give him a chance.

Overly judgmental, doesn't account for different people's speed or ability, and worst of all, TERRIBLE at critique! He only points out what you did wrong, doesn't make clear exactly what you did wrong, and doesn't clearly tell you HOW to fix it. And if you can't figure it out, it's YOUR problem for not understanding his convoluted comments.

If you are really interested in learning, you will succeed in his classes. Yes he is 'hard', due to the fact that he seems very passionate about the subject he teaches. Students who take the course seriously do well, students that do not take the class seriously....well, they make the most noise. He is truly knowledgable and worth the 'hard' work

If you're not in Art major, you may find him as boring teacher. You'll be spending 95% of time on drawing or listening to his lecture. Be ready for the presentation you'll have on mid-term. You also need to get lots of supplies so be aware of stuff you'll be carrying every classday.

He is not friendly at all!!!!! He also strictly grades. But he teaches his stuff pretty well and it was very understandable for me. Things I learned from him still help me to draw.

He teaches how to build the figure very successfully! I like the way he teach and help individually and I learned a lot from him. But in some point, he is very strict such as on grading. And... sometimes he's being really mean to some students.
