Comment:

Dr. Sumithran is an amazing professor. He seems to really care about his students. He gives extra credit opportunities and the tests come from his lecture PowerPoints. Dr. Sumithran has very interesting lectures. I really enjoyed listening to him speak and teach. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sumithran as a professor.

Comment:

I love Dr. Sumithran. He puts everything in the simplest terms as possible. Zoology is ALOT of material so you def have to study outside of class. I currently have Dr. Sumithran for the 2019 spring semester. We have online quizzes which are open note. Struggling? GO TO HIM, he wants u to succeed! Take him for lab too if you can!

Comment:

Great guy and lectures are very interesting. Exams are harder than expected, so study a bit more in depth than you might think you need to. A lot of extra credit was offered near the end of the semester. I enjoyed the class discussions and hearing about animals he's experienced throughout his career. One of my favorite classes so far in college!

He's a nice enough guy but he is very slow. We didn't even get to half of the material. He likes to give lots of examples which is nice but takes up so much time! He doesn't use blackboard for anything. No assignments just tests. Expects you to know every bold word in the book whether discussed in class or not.

Dr. Sumithran is an amazing professor. He loves the subject that he teaches and seems to know a little bit of everything. The exams will be difficult if you dont study in advance, but if you are prepared, you should have nothing to worry about. Great class so far, and i definitely recommend it!

I took this course online. The exams were difficult, especially since they were timed. I did study before the exams, but it seemed that he looked for a lot of specifics. I wasn't interested in the topic, so that didn't help. He didn't seem to respond quickly. You have to do a couple of essays. I didn't particularly like the course.

Dr. Sumithran is a very nice man. Lecture exams are a bit difficult; you must prepare well in advance to do well on them since there is a lot of material. He explains things well and seems to care about his students very much. I recommend that you take him.

Take the notes and you can get a good grade. Go to class and lab or you miss out on a lot of material. Tests for lecture are easy but lab tests are a little difficult. Very smart and nice!

My first class EKU with a field lab. It was cool. Prof has a thing for sewage treatment plants!!! He loves them. The cemetary lab was also fun - Great Job Doc! Look forward to seeing you next sem.

Dr. Sumithran is a great prof!! His tests are easy to study for and the lab was very interesting as we went on several field trips. I learned quite a bit of useful information, necessary for my career. He is one of the best Bio profs at Eastern.

He really is hard to understand. He massacres words like birds, metabolism, etc. He is very unlikely to go out of his way to help you. He says he likes interactive classes then whines when you ask questions and makes you feel dumb. WOULDN'T TAKE HIM!!!!

the last rating is insane. sure, dr s has an accent, but its not all that difficult, and can sometimes be amusing. all of his notes are online and available to any/all students. he usually reviews for exams (but prepare for them, or he'll get mad!). very straightforward style.
