His grading is very tough, but his teaching methods will benefit your writing as well as critical thinking skills immensely. Everybody seems to have a negative opinion of Dr. Ferebee before taking his class, but he's a great instructor. Do what he says to do and you'll learn a lot and do well in his class. He really teaches useful skills with writing and reading, and meeting with him for revision helps a lot. "Only one A" is a myth, but his classes are difficult.

Dr. Ferebee is intimidating at first, just because he has a dominant and overwhelming personality. Once you get to know him, He really is a great professor. His goal is not only to help you become a better writer, but also become an independent and critical thinker. If more professors were like Ferebee, society would be a lot more productive.

People try to scare you away from Ferebee saying "he only gives away one 'A' per semester", and he IS hard, but he's funny as hell and knows his stuff. I learned so much from this teacher, I will never use any form of the word "thing" in an essay again.

A very knowledgable scholar of modern literature. This professor pushes his students to write and think and read at their highest level possible! He knows everything about Virginia Woolf!
