Was ready to drop the class in the beginning of the semester because I could not understand the material, I emailed this professor telling her, and she convinced me to stay and told me exactly what I needed to do in order to succeed, and now I am finishing the class with an A after a lot of hard work.

Ms. Bickford is very clear in her instructions. She is very caring and interested in helping you in college. She is also a very good academic advisor. She helped me figure out what I was going to major in. She will work with you. Come to class and participate and you will get an A.

Comment:

Your grade is almost solely the Access Exam at the end. Fine if you are in the area as it is included in your course fee, but if you are away make sure a Certiport test center is near. GMetrix will be your life line and perfectly prepares you for the exam as long as you take notes when you need it. Passed with no knowledge of Access beforehand.

This is the hardest thing ever. You'll learn coding in depth, the parts of a computer, and be forced to take stupid hard MOS quizzes and exams. If you already know MOS or you're not a Comp Sci major, DO NOT TAKE THIS. I took it as a blow off elective and it took up all of my time.

Easy A course with very clear structure and allows you to finish as fast as you want! Mrs Bickford was very helpful and responsive on several occasions. You get 2 tries on all quizzes and short projects due, and the final was short and easy. Def recommend this teacher and this course for anyone! Online was a great option for the computer class.

Enrolled in an online class. Material for course has not been updated in years. I have never had such difficulty in an online class before. Only in the class for a few days but dropped it due to the lack of effort from her to help out her students. I found the fact she didn't know her own syllabus frightening.

Assignments posted in the online area are extremely unclear. It looks like the material has been used before in a different format and she didn't bothered to update the assignments for the new semester. There are assignments requiring a certain build for that week and the instructions list three different builds so it is unclear what you are to do.

Had a hard time in this calls but at the end, I fell short of passing. I had at high D and was told by other students that took her class before that it is rare that she bumps people up. I just conceded the notion that I just didn't do enough. When the final grade was posted on my records. It shocked me as it said a "C"! I then contacted her via email to say why she bumped me up. She said, "It's because you never gave up." She is a Hard teacher but also, She knows who trying their best and who is playing her.

Comment:

Professor Bickford does an excellent job teaching database concepts. She walks you through the material step-by-step, so it is all but impossible for you to walk away from her on-line "lectures" without a thorough understanding of the subjectmatter. The grading criteria are clearly delineated. I highly recommend her!

I had never taken an online class before this, and boy do I regret taking online classes with Ms. Bickford. Her class isn't bad until about halfway through, where she will give assignments that she BARELY skims over during her lectures. If you email for help, she'll give unhelpful one sentence responses. YOU ARE A TEACHER. DO YOUR JOB AND TEACH.

i took this class online and it was pretty easy, book use eh, you can just google the stuff and you will be fine because she give you the option of the new (expensive) book or the older version (cheap or free depending on you) i would take this class again i finished it 2 weeks early because it is at your own pace, i also took this class express

Tough class if you aren't already familiar with or have programmers brain. Lame since this is supposed to be an introductory course. Some assignments are very confusing and she's mostly absent when it comes to helping us. Would recommend using online tutorials rather than book even though to me, that still hasn't been very helpful.

She didn't respond to questions I was having with homework until after the deadline. And she took off points for the work I needed explained. Would not take any of her classes again, and would caution every student to avoid her classes.

Took this course online...she was not very helpful. Used old videos. Couldn't get responses back in a timely manner. Then you had the other studens online making their smart remarks to you. And she would have nothing to say. I got an F out of here..not because i didn't put my all in the course because I really really did. Will not take her again.

She utilizes videos to help the student understand what the chapter covers. She is well responsive to students and encourages them to try their best. You will enjoy this class so long as you are able to skim a few pages of the book every few days - her videos cover most of the material but can be confusing every now and again. 7/10.
