Hes a pretty chill guy and is easy to speak with. Class discussions are the answers to exam essays. You have to read, so plan out a schedule throughout the week (its not that bad). Participate, ask question, invest yourself.

Prof. Anderson makes this class way too hard for a 100-level class. Expects you to read on average 100 pages for each class, which you are quizzed on. It's hard to keep up on reading if you have other classes to worry about since its so much at one time. Quizzes and exams are pretty difficult since its ALL analysis. I would avoid him if possible

I had him during the Covid-19, hes a cool guy really cares about class and the materials covered in class. There are quizzes EVERY SINGLE DAY on whatever book the class is reading, he does give extra credit, during the online part of the class when we had to switch over to remote learning he never posted grades which was super frustrating.

Pop quizzes everyday if u dont read it will mess ur grade up. And I found it hard to follow along with him because he stutters a lot and will be talking about something then stops an will start up a conversation about something completely different which is confusing asf.

Professor Anderson is absolutely amazing. I had taken his class last year, and I find myself missing it often! He is caring and passionate, and does everything he can to help his students succeed. His lectures are interesting, and really worthwhile if you participate. Will his class be easy? Probably not. Will it be worth it? Absolutely.

Robert Anderson is one of the most passionate professors I've had. He's genuinely interested in the success of his students and encourages creativity. His classes are not difficult - nor are they easy, but he grades fairly and assigns a fair amount of work. I've had more challenging profs at OU, and few who from whom I've learned as much.

Looking back on my college education, Professor Anderson was one of the best Professors that I have ever had. He took my passion for literature to a whole new level, and helped me to really appreciate the beauty of Wordsworth, Blake, and Coleridge in a way that I never did before. He is willing to help any student who asks, and he is an asset to OU

Attendance is required and participation is a part of your final grade. I started out loving the class, but he consistently chose books with sex scenes or sexual assault and solely focused on those aspects of the book. Can be rude and called out a student based on looks. Be prepared to read every night.

Comment:
He was alright as a professor, the book choices weren't the best and it was a little unrealistic to be able to read so much in such short amounts of time. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF: You struggle with the topic of rape, sexual assault or topics like that make you uncomfortable. Almost every book you read includes assault and rape.

This is a fairly intense class for a 100 level literature class. There is reading every night, and you go through a novel every two weeks. It is very time consuming, and the tests are more fitting for a higher level class. Nice guy, I like him personally, but be ready for a slog if you take this class.

Professor Anderson demands deep thought and is absolutely one of those professors students cannot BS if they don't read, research, and re-read. If you want to learn a great deal, take his classes. If you are lazy, don't.

Awful. Very pompous and rude. He talks down to his students and graded unfairly. I would not recommend him to anyone. I've really liked all the English professors I've had at OU so far except him.

Comment:
Prof. Anderson was kind of hard. He was not very clear and jumped from poem to poem with out giving what he felt the poem meant. For midterm he gave us an option to explain how the poets were connected. I made a connection that he didnt agree with so i did bad. Other people felt the same way. Do not take him if you do not have to.

Had him for ENG 241 and also for the Romantic Period. He's energetic and very engaging. He'll encourage your ideas and will push you to expand them. His expectations are high, but if you're committed you'll do very well. Participating is a MUST; he will call you out if you aren't. And his voice! Listening to him read aloud was my favorite part.

He is OK. Teaching style is a little confusing. You get marked down if you miss class. There is a quiz each day. Material can be confusing but you can find translations online. If you work at it, it is not bad.I got a 3.5, the material freaked me out, but it was actually pretty easy tests.

He is OK. Not to friendly, but has a cheesy sense of humor. Sometimes rushes through material. Teaching style is a little confusing, but you can work through it by getting translations of material online.

At first I wasn't sure if I liked Prof. Anderson or not, but after taking his class I decided I really liked him as a teacher. He made his lectures very interesting and was open to everybody's ideas. He was fun and encouraging, and made in-class discussion enjoyable. Plus, he has the most relaxing voice-listening to him read aloud was half the fun!

He was an amazing Prof. At first I didn't know how I'd like him and his voice seemed to be the kind to put you to sleep. But he really knows what he's talking about it and he helps you to understand literature better. He was pretty fun too. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this class. Tests were a bit challenging, but if you read the books and pay attention in class, you should do fine. Participation is a big deal, and if you stick your neck out, and really speak your mind, he'll respect you for it. He was very engaging in class, and obviously loves what he teaches. Highly recommend.
