Horrible! Everyone is failing! He grades way too hard and he is a grump! Our SI is the only beneficial aspect. The class revolves around his past and interest in young women. Disgusting! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT! Two essays a weak? Seriously, it's only english50!

Prof Allen is a wise professor. He doesn't like e-mails...if u have a Quest, see him in his office &he will GLADLY help u. Don't be late. it's disrespectful to anyone. Study the textbook readings &u will pass easily. Go to him in the WRC when u can. He is funny in class. Loves English. Ask LOTS of useful questions. He is not bad at all hes nice.

i took this professor for my english 60a and he was a great professor but he doesnt put up with any bs...the only problem with his class was that he was diagramming sentences the entire semester and that stuff is no joke. super hard but passable

The readings in this class were very interesting. Overall, this class was very boring. He just rambles on the entire time and rarely even stands up or checks for comprehension. His insight to some of the readings were interesting but his attitude made him seem ignorant.

As a lover of philosophy I appreciated the moments of insight that he offered. Unfortunately, the way he structures his teaching approach (or lack thereof) is uninviting and, in most cases, unhelpful. He never reveals his guidelines for how he grades your work, so you're left guessing (and wishing for luck) that he grades you fairly.

His arrogance overshadowed his intelligence. His objectivity left much to be desired. I found, after a few weeks, that there would be no benefit from completing a class taught by this man, which is why I dropped it. I just couldn't take sitting in his class and listening to his useless lectures about his psuedo-spiritual epiphanies, though I tried.
