Nice guy, but avoid. On Exam #2 the highest score was a 64%. He cant teach and he is very hard to understand. Sadly he is a very very nice guy but its very difficult to even maintain a c.

Mr. Rut definately takes getting used to but his accent is bearable. It is his teaching style i couldnt stand and dropped after 2 weeks, while the class barely started due to lack of people (we started with 16) including myself we lost 3. Take at your own risk.

Mr. Ruta is a nice guy, but he seriously sets his class up to fail. I tutor students that need help with Math, and I still couldn't pass his class with an A. His tests are hard because they are not multiple choice, never explained thoroughly and he marks you wrong if you don't show your work or leave a symbol (+,-,=) out. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Extremely nice guy but bad teacher. He trys to rush too much and skips important steps to solving problems. TONS of homework; its seriously like having a second job. I would not recommend taking his class.

I agree that solano has a bad math dept. anyways this teacher is horrible, his teaching style is not good at all. his exams are extremely hard and not from the material covered in the text book. I dont think its fair that the exams were not from the material covered in the book or in class. Dont waste your time.Avoid taking him if you can.

He is a nice person, but a horrible teacher. Avoid at all cost, I have never worked as hard in any other math class I have taken. Also, this is the first D I have ever gotten, the Solano math department is terrible, if you can't avoid him as a math teacher go to NVC or DVC.

Mr Ruta is a very nice man, but unfortunately thats not what can get you through the class. The worst part of the class is that there is tons of online homework. So if you work, have a family, etc than don't take his class. If you don't than maybe you can handle it. The homework online takes hours. I mean hours. If it wasn't for that he's not bad.

I actually enjoyed this class and felt like I really learned a lot from him. I look forward in being in his class again. He does have an accent but he is really easy to follow. He truely is helpful and willing to explain all your questions.

He is a great teacher, just ask questions. He does care about your grade just dont be scared to ask questions; he wont powder your butt so ask questions! If you do the work and extra credit you will get an A... just keep practincing your problems, you'll do fine.

He has a strong accent so it is hard to understand him. When he teaches, he basically copies word-for-word from the book, so you would have better luck just reading the book. He doesn't really give much partial credit for trying problems on tests, and his curve is only to a C-average. He made it very difficult to learn the material.

Give him time to grow on you, he is very kind and will take the time that you need but you must hang in there. Ask him to repeat himself if his accent is a lil' unclear, that all it takes. Great exp., would take him again, no problem... isnt it?

Very difficult to understand through his accent. He refuses to go over any questions on homework that were not assigned by him. He is habitually late for class and expects the student to stay later to make up for his tardiness.
