Didnt end up needing the book for purchase, just the rental. Fairly easy grader on essays but expect quizzes on each play and group essays. No exams. Lectures were engaging and professor was easily accessible.

TAKE THIS CLASS REGARDLESS OF MAJOR!!! These novels are really good and eye opening. Only 2 SUPER EASY assignments a week, you don't even have to read the books, just spark notes. As long as you do the assignments you will get an A.

Obviously passionate about the subject. This is one of those classes where what you put in is what you get out. Not the right choice for anyone who's looking to coast or who couldn't care less about the topic.

Pretty easy class, can be a lot of busy work at times but you would have to try very hard to not receive an A. Read and do the work and you'll be fine.

Approximately 2 hours of homework assigned in between every class. Have to put in all your effort and more to receive a decent grade on a paper.

This class doesn't seem bad at first but it gets worse as the semester goes on. Goes by extremely slow. If you struggle with keeping up with homework this class is not for you. Although Kemp is nice she is not understanding. Unless you love really analyzing literature, I don't reccommend

This class was fairly easy for me. All the class consist of is reading different texts before each class, and then when you get to class you take a five question quiz on them. You will pass these quizzes if you read the texts.

Her class was discussion-based, but she never seemed to have a ton prepared for the class. It was almost like she was winging it a lot of the time which freaked some people out, so be prepared to have things to talk about from the readings. If you understand how to do an assignmentproject, you'll get a good grade on it, she isn't picky whatsoever.

Very easy class to pass, but grade lies heavily on the 3 question quizzes and 2 exams that are taken. Asks too many questions during lecture and can never let the class out early or on time.

There is a ton of reading for this course and quizzes on the plays once a week. The questions are not always easy. If you are good at keeping track of who says what in plays and why it's important than her exams are super easy. The massive amount of reading is the hardest part and she isn't very clear on her essay expectations and not very helpful.

You are allowed 4 absences. One big final paper to write (8-12 pages). Quizzes on the plays you read every week. Several other shorter papers. She takes a long time to give you back your grades. A nice lady who means well but is pretty difficult and expects a lot.

Dr Kemp wasn't really clear about what we were supposed to do in the class. It is a very easy class but the two tests are difficult. The class is extremely boring and she rambles on about stuff that does not seem relevant to what we should be talking about. She makes you read about 7 books but I am not sure what to get out of them.

Kemp is no good, I do not recommend taking Intro to Lit with her. She is too smart to be teaching the class and she talks to her students like they are little kids, she belittles you and I always leave feeling more stupid than I felt when I entered.

Dr. Kemp...ugh. Expects way too much from first year students, lots of homework, extreme feminist and lets you know it, and talks about Shakespear waaaay too much.. She is very phylisophical and alot of the time you're not sure what in the world she is talking about. Made me change my major. DON'T TAKE HER FYE COURSES!!!

She is brilliant. Teaches context and various views of a text so that you get more from it and understand more of what was going on at the time a text was written. If you are an engaged student, she will engage with all her heart. I think she really loves what she studies/teaches and feels very personally about it.

Extremely confusing. I dreaded her class. She rambles off subject and is draining to listen to. She made the students teach the syllabus through presentations. The problem with this is that we weren't taught anything, especially when fellow students gave poor presentations. I didn't learn anything in her class. She doesn't relate well to students.

Comment:
She is ridiculous. Way to much work for a 200 level course. All she talks about is gender and woman in the Renaissance anyways...we barely discuss how to interpret Shakespeares words. Did not like this class. If someone else is offering it, take it with them!
