Comment:

Dr. Jordan definitely knows what he's talking about but can be very confusing at times. Make sure you go to class because he does give pop quizzes that are actually extra credit which helps out your grade a ton!! He holds review sessions for tests that are helpful so be sure to go to those.

Comment:

Great professor and all around great guy. Everyone who says they struggled in this class obviously didn't put any initiative into the class. He has a great sense of humor and makes astronomy interesting. Try to actually learn the material and you will pass with an A because his grading scale is wack. Highly recommend this class.

Can start easy and get tough, stay up on the reading and do not miss the days of the lecture, every class is one part of a long lecture. Do not fall behind, it is hard to get caught back up.

Homework is difficult but found some answers after typing in the question on Google. Three tests around 80 to 110 questions each but he curves the tests and curves your overall grade. Showing up to class is a MUST.I was expecting my overall grade to be a low B but somehow got an A. He really does bump up your grade for showing up. I didnt get book

The material he covers is very easy and at a high school level. He posts all the lecture notes. Test questions come from your notes. He offers study guides, only has 4 tests, and many review sessions. Active in the class with many visual examples.

He looks like Santa. His class is so boring and he speeds through the lectures. Attendance is optional, and if you don't go.. his book is just a print out of his power points so you don't miss out on material. POP quizzes everyday in class which are Extra Credit so that really helps grade. Tests are hard but he has a really easy grading scale.

This class seems easy but its super hard. There is a lot of math put into it and he doesn't really explain anything he just reads the powerpoints. He's really nice and has a sense of humor, but the class just sucks. Doesn't take attendance. Made his own textbook with the homework in it, so you don't really need to buy the other books he says to buy

The class is difficult but he has a grading scale where an A is an 80% and up and a B is a 70% to 79% and so on. The tests are actually what saved me as his HW assignments are near impossible because of the math involved and have nothing to do with the tests he gives. The class and teacher are challenging but if you do the work youll be fine.

So he was pretty boring and did move fast but he did know what he was talking about and the tests were killers but if he's grading scale helped out a lot and saved my butt. He tried to be interesting and funny with his bad puns and terribly funny jokes so at least he's trying. So you could have done much worse with getting Jordan.

Very boring teacher. He goes through his powerpoints way to fast and when you ask a question, he dosn't really answer it. Although the tests are hard, his grading scale is low. Attendance isnt mandatory, but if you attend he will round up your grade at the end of the semester. Don't buy the book, just the workbook.

the class is hard, and the way he teaches about put me to sleep everyday because of him using the powerpoints for lecture. he wrote his own book so everything comes straight from that workbork. i think he SEVERELY does a grading curve though. I failed every quiz, test and didn't do so well on homework and still managed to get a C. Atndnce importnt.

Really hard and boring class, however he has a huge curve and he records attendance as bonus points, so if you go to class your total grade will probably increase a whole letter. With that in mind, its probably worth taking just to get a science credit out of the way. Tests arent too bad either.

This was somewhat of an unsual class and prof. Some days would be filled with hilarity while others couldn't be duller. He's a nice guy and definitely knows his stuff, but he can be confusing at times because he goes too quickly. His tests aren't terribly difficult, but they aren't easy either. He does, however, have a nice curve.

VERY Liberal professor obsessed with doom and gloom. You already took this course in 6th grade, but without the political backwash. Quizzes are incomprehensible and tailored to fool instead of test.

It seems like he teaches us the same lecture everyday but throws in new astronomers every now and then... His lectures could be more interesting... This man is crazy about Astronomy though and encourages everyone to be an Astronomer! haha... He's a big jolly guy like Santa, he's cute and funny!

Comment:

Grades really hard on homework and puts huge emphasis on attendance (which isn't always necessary except he gives quizzes almost once a week) Tests are long and hard, but he grades on a different scale- about 80% or something is where an A ends, so I guess it balances out.
