Best prof I've had at Carroll. Took him 4 different times. Write down everything he says and you're golden. The man could teach the dictionary and it would be interesting. Unbelievably cool guy - a blast to talk to. I feel bad for everyone that never had him since he's retiring this year.

Hayes is simply awesome. Readings aren't demanding, and though they can be dry, he makes the tiniest parts hilarious and entertaining. Tells great stories and is such a sweetheart/so personable. Total hippie. 2 papers, 2 exams, and 1 final. "Easy A Hayes" isn't actually true, but his class is doable if you make an effort. Recommended for sure!!

AMAZING! A lovely man, so hilarious, so sweet and really wants to get to know his students. Tests and papers are definitely doable, and he is really understanding and flexible if you have any problems. The kind of guy you want to hang out with. Super smart and definitely worth it.

LOVE Dr. Hayes! Such a funny guy, always shares his hilarious stories! Overall, his class is easy...make sure to take good notes in class and you'll be fine. Not much work at all, 2 tests and 1 paper. Definitely reccommend him!

Very easy-going, smart, and funny. Sets a good standard to not have to take the final. If you don't nomrally like English classes and are just taking this for core credit, he will make the class entertaining enough. Cannot recommend him strongly enough.

The easiest professor I've taken out all my EN courses. Makes funny and witty remarks during class. Classes can be shortened at times, 75min can become just 30min at times pending on the material covered. VERY EASY to follow. Got 100% on the first 2 exams. Write down everything he he says (he goes slow) and you'll be fine 1 paper/3 exams/1 final.

Mcawesome professor! Picks out the tiniest details in novels, and makes them hilarious. This also helps you to remember important information for the tests. Total hippie, very funny, and quite intelligent.

He's really nice, but class is boring. His stories are awesome! But when it comes to grading, he grades the papers really difficult and never really gives any direction or explanation. You just see a grade at the end of your paper. Gives out C's on papers like crazy!

This is my 2nd time taking Hayes and I loved it! He is so awesome. He gives out quizzes for the first part of the semester then he just starts giving free quizzes if you show up. His tests are off his lectures. He came in and spoke about his bike for one class. He is one of my favorite professors!

Mr. Tom Hayes is the man. He is a great professor, who is really knowledgeable. He doesn't give too much work, and he opens up a lot of discussions. He assigns papers that are not hard, and they allow the students to choose different works. He is really awesome and helpful!

This guy is so out there, he's hilarious. Probably the most boring class you'll ever take, but his comments will wake you up from time to time. You need to take careful notes in his class, tho, because his tests are drawn almost exclusively from his lectures. Definately not a pushover--"Easy A Hayes" is a misnomer.

Dr. Hayes is awesome; the only class that I never skipped during the semester. Basically just read the assigned readings and take a few pop quizzes, 2 scheduled tests, and write 1 paper. He is quiet and a bit monotonous, but his stories are hilarious, and he gives interesting perspectives on the material that you can actually relate to. Take him.

It's hard NOT to clear when all you do is read verbatim from the text. He does tell some funny stories though, which you can enjoy if you are still awake. As my class with him was for 2 hours a day during the dog days of August, that wasn't often! But his swallowing a bee while drinking coffee may be the funniest thing I have ever witnessed.

Ok this class is so boring but he's a really nice guy. He has a really, really, really soothing voice though, i would fall asleep in like 15 min everyday. But when i did stay awake he was really interesting, he does tell funny stories, but his tests can be hard if you dont know the material. Do NOT take in the middle of the day.
