Comment:

You need to take notes from the book, from the lectures, and watch whatever videos you can find. All he does is lecture, and he tries to relate it to his own personal life experiences but it doesn't help. Just memorize the terms from the chapters, that are mentioned in class and on the outline.

All he does is talk. His test are not reverent to what he talks about in class. He is blind so his wife makes the test so they are hard for no reason. He has a test proctor in class during test she just stares and makes it weird. Would not take him again

Get ready for Story Time with Tony Mayo! Because that's all class with him really is. The tests would be very easy IF he taught more of it. They're all multiple choice. We spent many days not taking any notes, because he went off on tangent.. and then digressed from that tangent.. and then digressed from that tangent.. Good man, not a great prof.

Mr. Mayo is a very caring professor. He will do whatever it takes to make sure you understand the material. He does get side tracked sometimes talking about his family, BUT it always relates back to the material and topics being discussed. He teaches by giving examples. Study the outlines he gives and know the terms (vocabulary).

I took Mr. Mayo for psychology and it was the hardest class I have ever taken at GMC. GMC is not a hard school as long as you do the work you are supposed to and study. He always talks about his son in class, his tests are super hard, the study guide that he gives is irrelevant to the test, his wife makes the test which makes them that much harder.

When you first get in his class you will think it is going to be an easy A it is not. Maybe if the test were about his wife and child like he talks about in the class then you will be fine but they are not he is legally blind and he has someone in their while you are taking the test so no cheating and he uses the point system I would not recommend

What is talked about in class has nothing at all to do with what you are tested on. Activity grades require you to attend class all the time, usually takes them on Friday's. Very rude when it comes to missing classes for illness, etc. Stories are not helpful. Great man, very nice person. Terrible teacher...

I loved Mr. Mayos class. He provided the info on his outline and advised you to read it before the lecture to be caught up. I recieved an A because I did exactly what he asked. His stories about his family where nice bc it took your mind off the intruction at times when needed....A+++ Mr. Mayo

He cannot actually teach the material, he just uses examples from his own life to "explain" different subjects, which was not helpful to me at all. It is hard to pay attention when he goes off topic, which prevents him from finishing the chapter so you have to teach yourself everything he didn't finish (which is usually the day before the test.)

Mr. Mayo is a nice, old fashioned man. The only problem I had was the testing. His teaching was just "o.k.". It's TRUE that he goes off subject a lot and talks about his family. This is a main reason I had trouble with information on the test. Be ready to do a lot of studying and learning of the material on your own time out of class.

His tests are interesting. I've never had tests with questions like his before. A bit hard but if you listen to him you will pass the class. He does have a tendency to go off and talk about his son though.
