Dr. VH is one of the greats. Unfortunately, he no longer teaches many classes as he is now the Head of the CS Department. I took his only class last semester, and I am glad I did. You'll have to do some work on your own, but he intends it to be that way and I never really got left behind. Talk to him if you have concerns, he WILL listen.

Comment:

He is one of the best professors i have ever taken. He really cares about his class and the people in it. He will get on your case if you aren't doing well and help you to achieve higher goals. Taking his class is one of my better decisions during college.

Overall a funny, engaging and interesting lecturer. His accent is amusing but he speaks English clearly. Goes out of his way to help his students and will answer any questions, even ones that seem weird or out of place. Gets very happy if you stick some Ukrainian flag clip-art into your project.

VH is amazing. He has a quiz every class but the quizzes are directly from the notes / textbook. He is ALWAYS available for help responding to emails almost immediately even at like 2am. You can see him in his office and he will practically do the work for you if you bother him enough. He is one of the best CS teachers at this school.

I would not recommend taking him unless you have some background in programming. I took him for Intro to Programming and he moved at a fast pace and most of the class became lost. Mid-term and final were very difficult. This was one of my hardest classes, and many of my friends feel the same way.

This was a graduate class. It was just amazing. I learned so much about Network Security. It seemed like Dr. VH was an expert on the subject and it was only the first time he had ever taught it! This class was indeed 1337. LOL.

Had him for engineering CSNP. As a Mech. E. we had to take it even if we had no prior experience with programming. No pre req. was required. He assumed we all knew what we were doing, so understanding the thought process of programing was hard. But once he saw that i was struggling, he chalenged me, but graded very eaisly.

Great teacher. He will help you no matter how much help you need. Also, he is very good at explaining things through diagrams and visual aids. One problem is he gives alot of work, but if you do all of it, and ask for help if you dont understand something, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a good grade in his class

For people saying he doesnt know anything about computers, you are clearly not CS majors and you are wrong. This man will give you a lot of work but is dedicated to his job and you will learn. So what if he goes off on tangents? they are always useful. You will work your butt off but you will learn. A lot, so don't let the work discourage you.

DR VH. is one of the best faculty members that the CS department has. he is hard. quizzes usually everyday, labs can be quite difficult but he knows its hard so hes pretty understanding. keeps class interesting and really knows his stuff. You will see him as a CS major so you'll get to experience the "AWWSUM"

A pretty good amount of work was given out - but nothing too too bad. There's a lot of reading and a lot of quizes and labs. There is a lot of tough material - but he is ALWAYS willing to help out. Always available thru email to answer any questions. Have to be interested in networking to enjoy the class and bear the workload!

Gave an incredible amount of work and was often unclear about instructions on exams and quizzes. Most people in class were confused about much of the material, but he continued to pile on the work. While he DOES take the time to help his students, he rarely lessens his huge workload to allow students time to catch up and understand.

It was my first ever programming class and it was incredibly easy. If you honestly did any of the extra credit or HW you would ace the exams and quizes. Class without the computer was pointless though. His quizes start exactly when the class starts. Group assignments sucked especially if your put in a group of leeches which I was. Easy A, take him!

by far my fav teacher at rowan, always willing to help and very clear, can be tough at times but always for your good anyway. If your into computers and takin the csnp course, jst do the hw and show up and participate and ull do fine.
