Comment:

Tanksale is a cool guy and teaches everything with consistency and clarity, HOWEVER, if you even miss ONE class, you're skrewed, because he doesn't post any of the class notes or lecture points or anything on canvas. Basically you need to show up to know what to do and you can't rely on anything posted to canvas, because there won't be anything.

Comment:

Tanksale's an okay professor. However, he will go through the material extremely fast so you have to make sure to pay attention. Also worth noting that he usually arrives about 10-15 minutes late and doesn't always make his grading expectations clear, so you can end up losing points on obscure requirements that he doesn't mention beforehand.

Professor Tanksale was great at reviewing concepts and made the class very easy. If you listened and asked questions the projects and labs would be easy. For the midterm and final he does a bunch of clicker questions for review and then asks a couple of questions about syntax. They both could be completed in under ten minutes.

He's a really funny guy. There's no "homework" but projects due every two weeks and only two tests. He teaches you exactly what you need to know for the projects, labs, tests. Spends at least two days before the test reviewing the material. As long as you show up to class, pay attention, copy down what he types, you'll be fine.

I have taken CS courses in the past and this is an introductory course, but he is very good at explaining the building blocks to coding step by step. The best thing about him is he isn't out to be cold towards students by giving pop quizzes or anything.

I've been at Ball State for five years and Prof. Tanksale was the best professor I've had in that time. His class covered some of the most practical material you'll learn in college. Best of all, he's in this to help you LEARN. He wants to see his students succeed, which is more than can be said for a lot of graduate level professors at Ball State.

The lecture was somewhat boring, but you must attend to know what do for lab. The assignments and exams from lecture were very simple, but if you did not pay attention or attend class the lab exams were much harder. For not being computer savvy, tanksale taught me a bunch.

I didn't have any programming experience before this class, and I learned so much from Tanksale. Very friendly and always is willing to answer questions and helps after class. Starting with no experience, I learned so much.

Tanksale is a great teacher. He has such diversity to teach many areas in the department and is more versatile than anyone in the CS department. If you have a chance to take one of his classes- definitely go for it. I have taken several and all were great experiences. Unlike most professors, he actually knows what is going on in the real world.

Great Prof! Attendance given randomly for EC. Homework/Quiz Answers can be found online. Midterm and final answers are given to you from the h/w answers. Only drawbacks are 8-10 page paper and reads off of slides, but does give some funny analogies. Def recommend!

Tanksale is one of the best teachers in the CS department. His weak point would be the lectures are a bit boring, he essentially just reads the powerpoint notes that come with the teacher edition of the book. The assignments are just simple look up the answer questions, but actually work well to help you learn the material. HIGHLY recommended

Vinayak is one of the best professors that I have had at BSU. He really puts an effort to go through all of the material and to make sure that people understand it. He makes a sincere effort to ensure that students are able to complete all of the assignments. One of the few teachers at BSU that isn't obsessed with java.

Tank is the man...simply put. He is an excellent teacher. The material is slightly difficult but he made it easy to understand. Very fair and just a great teacher. Highly recommended.
