Comment:
Online classes are awful. She barely teaches anything, expects students to watch hours of videos instead. Tests are inconsistent with material learned. Rude to students who ask questions during her LIVES. Textbook was a waste of money as it also contradicts info learned. No other option for a professor in this course sadly. Avoid this class.

Kocache is by far one of the worst professors online. She expects students to teach themselves even though she is the one getting paid to educate us. Most of the class consists of dedicating every waking moment of your life to studying. The information is a huge load, everything you see is on the exam. Unaccommodating to the pandemic circumstances

In person I'm sure she was phenomenal, but teaching online is not her forte. Your only grades are the WEEKLY quizzes, and her exams. Things she explicitly says won't be on the exam ARE. She say she doesn't ask trick questions, just ones that make you think. You can't go back to questions on the exam. The class average on the first was a 62.

This woman really expects us to read her mind when it comes to understanding her vague questions and it has been a very annoying aspect especially since all work is done online and is timed so you cannot ask her to clarify a horribly worded/written question. I highly discourage anyone taking this professor.

Fall20. Very material heavy, but she is only choice for bio246. She overviews chaps in live session, not teaching details because her recorded lecture videos contain all info, helpful to watch them before attending live. Quizzes every week (10 ques). Exams (50ques) are difficult & not straightforward. MUST study at least a week before. GOOD LUCK

I do not recommend taking her for microbiology. This class is very material heavy. She knows her information well but fails to teach it efficiently. There are quizzes every week and her exams are EXTREMELY difficult. Her exams are completely different from her review guides. You must study at least 1-2 weeks in advance in order to pass.

Very disappointed. I was looking forward to taking her but I was wrong. She has one thing on her slides, and another on her test: constantly contradicting. Does not explain things clearly at all.

Hard class, but she's an amazing person overall. Dr. Kocache's exams were difficult at first but it gets easier. Make sure to pay attention in class and ask questions.

Dr. Kocache is an AMAZING professor to take! She is super passionate during her lectures which helped me stay engaged during class. Beware that you will have to WORK for your grade however it is incredibly worth it in the end. Not to mention she is super funny as well which I always looked forward to.

She's a really good professor. Never would've thought I'd take so much interest in the curriculum covered. You can tell she really enjoys what she talks about. Yes, you do have to pay attention lol.

She's very enthusiastic during lectures and tries hard to include everyone in a non-threatening way. She has a lot of small grades and has a fair, sometimes unclear, grading criteria. Her quizzes seem to have some trick questions, but if you try you'll pass.

One of my more difficult classes, let me start off by saying 1/3 of the class failed the first test and the 2/3 barley passed. The class is hard, STUDY a week prior to the test if you want to be successful in this class. She is extremely knowledgeable in the subject matter so ask questions. The majority of the testing material was from her ppts.

Professor Kocache is a wonderful professor who really wants her students to do well. The course consists of 8, 1 question pop quizzes and 4 exams in which she drops the lowest one. You MUST study at least a week before, there is a ton of content to know and her exams are very tricky!

4 exams, the lowest is dropped at the end of the semester. The final counts as 2 exam grades tho and is commutative. There are 8 pop quizzes that are 1 question each scattered throughout the semester. Post lecture videos on blackboard which are helpful to study for. Dr. Kocache is an extremely good teacher but this course is extremely challenging.

This was by far my favorite nursing pre req and the most interesting! With that being said, her exams are VERY tricky especially the first one. She is an amazing lecturer and posts her lectures a few days before the exam. She is adorable and has the funniest stories. Try your best to study along the way because she gives pop quizzes. DO NOT CRAM!!

I also wanted to add that her exams are 75 questions, but only 75 minutes are given to take them. This is what stressed me out the most during her semester. On top of that, they are also multiple choice A-E, which I had never experienced before. Again, best of luck and study hard!

I will begin with her lectures are extremely well put together. You MUST attend every single lecture in order to understand the material, unless you're naturally gifted in microbiology. Her exams require an intense amount of studying, so form good habits. I didn't study as much as I should have, so that would be my biggest advice to anyone.

She's brilliant. Makes tons of connections across different subjects in the class, pay attention to those. Show up and take notes. Don't be on your phone. Do the study guides and if she has compare and contrast topics? Know them very well. For diseases, make a chart and study it every day. Study everything every day. Review sessions! Study groups!!

The best of the best. The class and material is difficult, but her lectures/powerpoints/teaching is amazing. A lot of people failed because they didnt study/not enough studying. I had to STUDY to really learn the material but her exams were easy if you actually studied (minimum of 5 days of studying). And she has funny stories and great humor.
