I took this Prof Rajab for BIOL 174C too, and I have to say that he is a very good professor. However, it will be very hard to get an A in my opinion. I got a B both times I took his class. You def have to work for your grades. I highly recommend taking this professor but get ready for a lot of studying on your own by yourself. Office hr helps too.

DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE NOT A BIO MAJOR. The amount of work needed to fulfill this GE is not worth it! You are better off taking Bio100. His exams can be pretty difficult, he loves this subject. But treats it as an upper-division class. More than 3/4rd dropped this class! He does exams over zoom. He is nice and respectful. Heavy workload!

Professor Rajab just wants students to learn with some hands on experience so he has some in class labs, which could be a bit dangerous because we are in a pandemic. The tests, about 4 lecture and 3 lab, are tough because of the amount of information that has to be retained. There is also a independent research project and a few quizzes to do.

I took him because I heard so many good things about him and his ratings were good but on this online format I DO NOT RECOMMEND him. He doesn't care about COVID at all and says to get over it. The tests are hard and heavy and he assigns so much work including a research project. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Pros: very passionate about teaching. He uses props or draws detailed diagram on the board to explain difficult concepts. Go to SI, it's modeled after his test. Cons: he runs his class like a military boot camp, no mercy. Don't bother him with your personal problems. 1st test is hard to weed out the weaklings and remaining tests are not as bad

He's the best professor if you are thinking of majoring in Science. If not, this class might be difficult for you. His lectures are long, but there is extra credit if you participate in SI/tutors. The tests are fairly difficult to test your understanding of the chapters. Overall, he is an awesome professor who cares about his students.

Dr. Rajab was the hardest prof I've ever had. His test were not fair especially in the transition from in-person to online. He is very tough grader and is not lenient and will have no mercy and expects perfection in labs. DONT TAKE HIM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS YOU WILL THANK ME, THE ONLY HONEST REVIEW HERE!!!!

Dr. Rajab is an amazing professor, more amazing because the transition to remote was smooth. He provides chapter summaries that pretty much help you pass his exams if you take the time to read and process the information. Respectful man. Will take him again. Thanks Dr. Rajab! ppl that complain literally did NOT do the work, just saying.

bio for majors was tough! lots of reading and assignments, but dr. rajab made the course enjoyable and learned a lot. going online because of corona virus was smooth from the first week. he kept us on top of things and made the class organized. amazing teachier.

There were 4 lecture exams and 3 lab exams. The first lecture exam was the hardest one; the other three were much easier. the 3 lab exams were relatively easy since everything on the exam was on the study guides. If you want an A in this course, going to the SI is strongly recommended.

This is a tough class, and it took me a while to figure out how to study for it. Ditch the book and just read the modules. What helped me study was making Quizlets. Do really well in lab and go to SI to get as many points as you can. Don't forget to do the lab and lecture quizzes. Don't slack off. If you want that A, you need to put in the work.

Great professor, his class was rough but as I learned how to study it became very straight forward. labs and exams make up most of your grade, however, if you want a good grade homework is a must. Always go to his SI tutor and make sure you study ahead of time .

He's an inspirational but still amusing lecturer who makes coming to class enjoyable! I took this class as one that if you can't at least get a B in, or an A in reality, you aren't prepared for higher level classes. He does baby you even tho many people dropped. 4 exams, 3 lab exams, 1 major lab group project, homework, quizzes and extra credit.

Dr. Rajab is very intelligent and enthusiastic. This class was easy to me but very workload heavy. We had 1 research paper to work on with clear instructions. Many minor lab worksheets to turn in. 3 exams, 1 final that wasn't cumulative. Had "learning modules" that pretty much replaces the book. I didn't buy or use a book and got an A.

This class was very challenging but rewarding. It is both lecture and lab heavy. Try not to miss any of them. Professor Rajab is very passionate at what he's teaching. He is strict but caring at the same time. He is one of the best professors that I've ever had.

You need to be accountable for yourselves b/c there isn't as much babying compared to 174. Not that much EC. Second exam: Mendelian gen. If you took 174, second exam was like the final but harder due to the amount of questions you have to go through. If you devote your time to really understand the material and go to his lectures, it is doable.
