Comment:

Dr. Boorstein is very caring and sweet. She was very understanding of my personal situation. About the class: very monotone voice (you just have to push through), if you go to class you should be fine (I stopped going bc of zoom difficulties), tests are okay, homework is all extra credit (no grade deductions, help understand materials). Very nice.

Comment:

I thought she was great. She's a little monotone but she still keeps class interesting and fun/funny. She doesn't give too much homework and the homeworks and lectures are always helpful/important. I hated the lab section of this course and so did everyone else but it did help. She's an easy/fair grader and definitely cares about her students.

Among many other things, Lectures are particularly hard to follow, her instructions (particularly in labs) are horrendously unclear, and her handwriting is utterly illegible. Although in her defense, she's a very easy grader.

This woman is tough but good! She is really fair and takes everything into consideration. She's one of the few teachers who cares what's happening in your life outside of class. She can get a bit boring and her lectures drag but she is so intelligent and has so much to offer if you actually listen. She is big on homework and attendance.

She seems nice but does't care about you at all. makes lame jokes this class is so boring its like watching paint dry... she has terrible hand writing so you can't even make sense of the notes and theres A LOT. she gives 3 tests and there super hard stay away!! even when you try your hardest she doesn't care she will still fail you

She is a very sweet and kind lady, but god are her lectures boring. She has a monotone voice that never gets easier to listen to. Also, if science isn't your thing this class is extremely tough. She explains things in a very clear way but only in one way, so if you don't get something there isn't much to help.

Boorstein really cares about her students. There are three tests a semester. A lot of notes. And you will have to put in the work for studying and homework. But she's super nice, knows so much about what she's teaching, will show you her vacation slides, talk about her family, and truly make sure you understand the material. Take her!!

Simply put she is the nicest, most helpful person at Post. I hate science, I've never done well in it and I got a B+ in Earth Science. It was a ton of work, a lot of tests, and I had to go for help on more than one occasion, but if I can do it, so can you!

Comment:

This is a good teacher! She's an extremely tough grader, but as she is fond of saying, "what good is a degree you didn't work hard for?" The class was required and wasn't my cup of tea, but she made it interesting, got the students involved. She's a sweet lady with a great sense of humor and I definitely recommend taking her!

Had the pleasure of having Dr. Boorstein as my professor for several classes throughout my college career. She is without doubt a top-notch educator that wants all of her students to succeed and understand the material. Super kind, caring, and hysterical! I have developed a strong friendship with her, and I HIGHLY recommend her!!

She is useless, shows her family history through pictures, NOT helpful at all. If she hates you and you give her more work to do she will not pass you or be fair with you. She never gives time to copy the notes before erasing them and oh yeah wear sunglasses to class so you can try and read what she writes while she keeps the projection light on!

I had her for lab, she went over every one before we handed them in and made sure we all understood it and had the right answers. She explained anything we didn't understand and gave very helpful review sheets for the midterm and final. I would recommend her for lab but I heard her lectures are tough.

She is sooo funny! This teacher made me crack up the whole class. I did not understand earth science at all but she was more than willing to sit with me during office hours and re-explain the lecture. The fill-in the blank worksheets are a little strange, but helpful.

when in class you really have to hang on her every word and write down EVERY name, place, thing, example she mentions. it WILL be on the test. that being said, if anything is unclear just look in the textbook. she is also reasonable- IF neccessary she will weight grades. just study hard for the tests- getting an A wasn't too hard

She is really funny, but her tests are pretty tough. She is fair though, and will help you when you need it. Always responds to e-mails, and can be leniant if she likes you.
