Professor is a brilliant scholar with Harvard education and long teaching history. His detailed draft revisions are more helpful than any UW class. Expert in political science, philosophy, history, and religion. Very friendly to and supportive of all students. Compare with other GW professors. Highly recommend.

It's an interesting class to take because he is an Orthodox priest. I had never had a professor with his viewpoints before (ex: does not believe in human evolution), and I would recommend it so that you get a new perspective. You also read some really great stuff.

Good professor - facillitated interesting discussions and added a lot of outside knowledge to the learning process. Found a good workload balance. People only do not like him because of his conservatism, which I feel he kept out of most discussions unlike a lot of other teachers.

Good professor, lenient grader, easy A- if you read the books and write the essays. I would take this class again.

One of the best professors I have had at GW in my four semesters here. He is very well organized, engaging, and a well-educated individual who has a lot to teach his students. I highly recommend this professor to anyone interested.

Actually moonlights as a conservative Christian chaplan -- and teaches like one! Very arrogant and doesn't like to be challenged.

Nothing too hard, nothing too easy. Lectures are lively enough, discussion oriented.

Great books that I was really happy to read, but we never really discussed them. Lecture was purely summarizing the books, which was helpful, but left out so many important aspects of discussion. My class got into a heated argument once and he unfortunately stopped it. I wouldn't take it again.

Dr. Webster was my favorite prof at GW. He was the only conservative in a sea of close-minded liberals! The books we read in class have been really useful in other areas. There's a lot of reading but it's all those books you've always felt like you should read!

Terrible prof. You read great books then discuss them on the most superficial level possible. His lack of depth is disgusting, and he demands nothing of his students. Everyone got better grades on their papers when they didn't read the books. You'd be better off in another prosem.

My least favorite class so far. Hated every moment of it. He's friendly and forgiving only if you agree with his opinions and don't challenge his omniscience. Nice guy, but definitely an activist (or anti-activist, more like it) professor.

Incredibly boring lectures in what is supposed to be a discussion course. He is an easy A but you will gain next to nothing from the class. Avoid it at all costs.
