Comment:

Winnie is super sweet and very organized. It was very easy to understand what she was teaching once I got the hang of it. I'm not the best at harmony and admit I was a little lost in the beginning, but I think since she is such a good teacher the subject became clear. Great choice!

A GEM! Take her whenever you can! She doesn't like phones, makes everyone write down stuff which is very useful for such a class. Very caring and hilarious when shown you care for the class. She really wants everyone to do well and after her class you'll be a pro of jazz harm even if you're new to it!Keep your notebooks for life you'll need them!!!

Very good professor. Explains the subject very clearly. Not necessarily a class which you can breeze through but also not too much work. Overall great, would recommend her any day if you wanna learn something.

Great and inspirational teacher. Very clear about what she expects but knows how to teach marvelously. Learned so much stuff and gives really good feedback. Not for lazy people and be prepared to do your work.

Now that I will be graduating and after taking a lot of teachers all of those years Winnie is the number one on my list. She is SUPER clear and she ALWAYS complete the papers she assigns before she give them to her students. So she lets us know what difficulties we will face on the specific paper. Berklee needs more teachers like her!

Comment:

Winnie is very good at what she teaches. She's clear, and I think she's a fair grader as long as you approach her about any grading issues. The only problem I have is that she's very by the book. If you're a student who prefers someone who drives more on intuition rather than memorizing rules, I wouldn't recommend her.

I took Winnie for Harmony 2, she is a great teacher. She is funny sometimes, keeps you engaged and if you pay attention you will learn the material. She does give a lot of homework though, but I feel that it was necessary to understand the concepts. If you do the homework and show up to class everything should be good.

Yes, I took Winnie for all of the Harmonies at Berklee. It's going to be tough to find another professor who cares more about their students' education. I wish she taught higher level courses, I'd definitely take her again! She will clear up any questions you have about music theory. I promise. Oh yea, ask her to count in Danish :D

my favorite harmony teacher. not my strongest class and she presents the material in a way that i can more easily digest it. she assigns homework every week, but it is very beneficial to your development and practical know-how. and she's cool! by the end of the semester the class feels like a family. great atmosphere for a difficult subject.

Winnie is the best! Had her for Harmony 3 and am taking her again for Harmony 4. People say she gives A LOT of work but it really is NOT a lot of work. Its just weekly assignments that help you to learn the material. I know so much more than a lot of my friends because of the assignments from her class....take her. She is also fun!

Winnieh is without a doubt the best harmony teacher I've ever had. She's perfectly clear with the material she presents in class and we rarely have to use the book, except for homework assignments, which are a lot. If you want to take a challenging course with lots of homework and really understand the subject matter, Winnieh is for you!
