Professor Kelly is clearly extremely knowledgeable in history. He makes you think of history in a different light and fine tunes your critical thinking skills. Sometimes his lectures are boring, but he does provide a lot of information during them. He's a very tough grader, but not impossible. He gives great feedback.

Prof. Kelly's breadth of knowledge was extraordinary. Though he challenged students, his comments served to make me a better thinker and more forceful writer. Definitely take his classes if you are interested in a better understanding of the western canon.

He is one of the most frustrating professors I have ever had. His grading on essays and other written work is very difficult. He expects publishable work. His lectures are dull and boring. The workload is high.

Lectures are extremely interesting. His humor and side discussions keep everyone entertained. The workload is average and the amount of reading is a little high. His grading is somewhat harsh, but it is definitely worth it.

An absolutely hilarious, irreverent & politically incorrect professor who will make you thank god for tenure. His frequent cursing is bewildering coming from someone who wears a sweater vest, but that only makes it funnier. His classes seem to draw mostly male students, but I recommend him; he is hands-down one of the best lecturers on campus.

The class is easy if you do the work. Hilarious lectures - the most quotable professor I've ever had. "If you were a factory worker in the 19th century, you went to work and then you came home and collapsed. And if you were lucky, you got **** and fornicated before you collapsed."
