Cute old man, seriously such a sweetheart. Don't you dare disrespect him, he is really strict on respect. Tests super easy, daily quizzes in class, long homework. If you do the homework you should be fine on the test. If you've already taken chemistry in high school this class is a breeze.

His daily quizzes are next to impossible. He expects you to know stuff even Chem II students would not know. These quizzes every day add up and count for 1 test grade. This test grade pretty much is an automatic failure unless you read the whole chapter every day before class. No way you can do extra curricular or work while taking his class..

He's a very nice guy, but expects you to know everything he is talking about. Definitely don't take him if you already have a tendency to struggle in your Science. Daily grade/attendance is 2 questions at the beginning of every lecture over the chapter he will talk about in class(def have to read book). No notes on tests.

Dr. Hassell's teaching style is less than optimal. His lectures can be quite boring, and you don't really need to pay any kind of attention to pass. He's an old school teacher, doesn't post anything on Blackboard, and only gives four tests. Basically if you do the Mastering Chemistry online homework and read his old exams on ER you'll pass.

He's a very good teacher if you can study from example problems. His lectures can be boring at times.

Hassel is a boring lecturer but a very sweet guy. Tests, Mastering Chem, and the daily quizzes are equally weighted (he averages quiz grades). You have 4 tests, and the final. Just print out his old tests from reserves on the library site and work those you'll do fine! Tests are 17 questions, but he only counts 15 so you get points for showing up!

He's a very nice guy, always explains things well. His tests are very straight forward and easy if you studied. Typically tests are about 17 questions long and there are old tests from him in the online course reserves.

Easy class w/ some interesting topics. He likes what he does & he cares about his students. Daily "quiz" that is 1 question over the reading from the night before. 2 open-note tests and open-note final (write lecture notes but most of the ?'s are taken from the chap. summaries). 1 easy paper & 1 easy book report. Drops lowest grade.

Seemed like a nice guy but not a great professor. Poorly organized and does a poor job of explaining most things. Very dry and boring in class. Could be better...could be worse.

I took his Chemistry and Society class, which was great because he does not teach it like a pre-med class, and he gives open notes tests. He's an overall nice guy, and you should definitely take CHE 1405 if science is not your strong suit.

Fair teacher. Difficult tests but if you study and practice with the ones on file in the library, they aren't too bad. He uses an irritatingly nasal "ehhhh" instead of umm. If you don't study, don't take this class!

He can't really explains things very well... you're better off taking your own notes from the book! And if you ask a question in class, he makes you feel stupid. But if you read the book and study for tests, you should do ok.
