Great Teacher & Person Overall!! Definitely knows a lot about film and all that is film, film making & its history!! I give him an A- for the film theoryhistory courses that he taught & a C+ for his teaching film production. I think he was definitely way better at teaching film theoryhistory then teaching film production. I liked him overall!

Dr. Karimi is amazing and very knowledgeable. His teaching style is very different and you either love it or hate it. I wasn't a fan of his style of teaching but what I respect is how much the man knows. His classes are always fun, meaningful and relevant. I'd recommend him any day.

Many people don't quite get how Mr. Karimi teaches. Most people either love him or hate him. I loved him, he doesn't make you sit through boring lectures, but instead gives you projects and lets you learn by doing. Many students complain that he doesnt teach much.. but you have to ask him what you want to know, he is an endless book of knowledge

I've taken many film theory courses at several different colleges in the past. Taking Documentary Film/TV with Karimi was by far the best film theory course that I have ever taken. He truly goes the distance when teaching & he knows so much about the subject matter. Go to every class, take good notes, and study the material & you will do fine.

Mr. Karimi may have been a good teacher 20 years ago, but he needs to retire. He is the epitomy of absent minded professor. Coursework not clearly outlined and doesn't give grades back so you never know how you're doing. This class was my first C in 3 years bc he sucks at teaching.

A great class to take if you are interested in the many aspects of documentary film and TV. I learned so much about documentary film, sometimes I found that I learned a little to much than I should with Karimi. He provides so much insight and information! He is a really good teacher.

There were several courses that I have had Karimi for as well as digital film making this semester. Overall he seems like a very good teacher and he will help you if you are willing to ask him for help. I also learned a lot from his classes pertaining to things in film that I never knew before & I have been studying film making for numerous years.

Incoherently meanders through subject matter. Revisits the same material over and over. Deflects questions, unavailable after class, complete waste of time.

Dr. Karimi has got to be my favorite teacher ever. The guy knows his**** and teaches it well. If you zone out in class, you won't do well, but if you just listen, you're sure to do well. He's always willing to help and assist you in any way he can. He honestly tries his best and I have nothing but respect for Karimi.

If you go to class or watch the movies in your spare time and study what's on the review, it is really easy. He seems very knowledgeable and if you listen closely he tends to say some really hilarious stuff. I highly recommend him.

He is SO easy. You don't even have to go to class! He doesn't take attendance. The hardest part is staying awake through all the boring black & white movies. He remembers the history of film by heart! He basically gives you the test a day before. He's really absent- minded and he falls alot, but he's nice. He has some health problems, so be nice.

A very interesting teacher and class. He does have an accent, but it is easily understandable after a little bit. He chooses the films with care, and they do get better after the silent era. He hates talking in class, and people who rudely get up and leave. Tests are multiple choice and matching; fairly easy to pass.

Takes time in picking films. Very knowlegable, but outdated. Hard to understand and easy to fall asleep. 1 out of 5 films are worth watching. doesnt return emails or calls and fails to give gades at the end of the semester. Got an I and took 2 months to find my exam to give me my A! unorganized!

It's a privilege to take a class with Dr. Karimi. His classes are easy, but he takes great care in choosing the films he shows. I learned so much about film from him. Yes, he gets upset when people rudely and immaturely talk during the movies, but so should anyone who cares about getting something out of the class. UWF is LUCKY to have DR. Karimi!
