I've taken all of my Spanish courses from Prof. Dabrowski. At first it can seem like he isn't much help, but that's just his personality. He is actually very nice, lenient, and extremely helpful if you just ask! He gives students several ways to contact him outside of class and if you go to class you should be fine. Dabrowski was a great teacher. He does jump right into the language so be ready to study and learn. He was willing to help if you asked! But you must attend the class. The class was easy but you have to put in the time and complete assignments. There is a lot of class participation and it helped me remember things.

If this is your first time taking Spanish, I recommend you study extra hard, because he is not very easy if its your first time, especially because his Polish accent makes it hard to understand alot of the things he says. He has random quizzes which will bring your grade down ALOT if you didnt study.+ he barely reminds us of when homework is due.

Pretty easy class, and fun. I agree with one of the other raters that he wasn't that sociable, but he's nice enough, he explains things, and his expectations are managable. Regular homework assignments, but they're pretty easy. You've gotta attend class though to keep up. I would recommend this professor.

Sarcastic and not very helpful if he doesn't favor you. Completely ignores your questions and most of the work is done online. Is this an online class? Is not clear on the syllabus and is often forgetful. Would not recommend him. Oh yeah, he's from Poland too!

Very good teacher, he is not much of a socializer, but the class isn't at all awkward or boring. He is very lenient towards many things. You should go to class every day with text book. Understanding his English was a bit hard. Bookwork isn't mandatory but he makes people read the answers, but it's fairly easy to think of it on the spot.

I would recommend him. He is a great teacher and knows his stuff. He moves at a good pace, but ATTENDENCE IS VERY IMPORTANT. You pretty much drop a grade if you miss more than 3 classes. He's there if you need help, he was very helpful. Take him if you want to learn Spanish!

I had Prof. Dabrowski for the Fall 2008 semester. He was always very helpful, and his lectures were perfectly understandable. The homework was clear, concise, and consisted almost entirely of Quia and book assignments. I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Dabrowski is a great teacher! He knows Spanish very well. He even gives you his phone number if you need help. Quizzes/tests aren't hard, just pay attention in class and study. Only bad thing is that you HAVE to attend class...but he makes it fun! I recommend his class to anyone!

Comment:

I hated Spanish in High School (I never got anything higher than a C). When I took 101 from him, he made learning Spanish fun. I actually got an A despite not doing certain assignments. His class structure is simple and homework is short and easy and you actually learn and retain something. Take all 4 semesters from him if you can.
