Comment:

Great class, solid professor. She is easy to talk to and helpful if you have questions or are struggling. Communication is key--talk to her early and often, go to her office hours or hang back after class. Do the reading and be prepared to talk/ask questions about it, anything that shows you are engaged.

I love Kathee. She expects a lot from her students so don't expect to not do any work, but I always found her very helpful. She is a fair grader and knowledgeable and I really enjoyed taking a course with her. I wish I had another course I could take with her, honestly.

In the capacity of adviser she plays the part of obstructionist extremely well if she feels you are not suitable for some arbitrary reason. Does this tell you something about the difference between authoritarian and authoritarianism in work practice?

Great professor! Super sweet and helpful. She really knows her stuff. A lot of group interaction/work but helpful for future teachers. Be ready to be challenged with technology. I disagree about her shutting down opinions, she listens! She gives great, personal feedback on big assignments.

Awful, terrible, inconsiderate professor. I expected more from someone who has such a reputation. Class was nothing but busywork. She teaches that instructors should use a variety of techniques with their students, yet she utilizes the teaching techniques she denounces while teaching her class. God forbid you miss class-even with a valid reason.

Comment:

Kathy has a lot of experience to offer new teachers. Some of her activities were very useful and worthwhile. However, she has a particular view of readings and when students bring up new viewpoints she shuts them down (rudely at times). She is smart and passionate but gets frustrated by her student's confusion. The workload was excessive IMO.

Kathee is a great professor. Yes, there is quite a bit of work involved, but Hello. This is a core class. All you need to do to pass is do the work. She helps you out when you need it, and is even willing to stay late to meet about an assignment. She loves technology, so it's interesting how she implements that in her course. Overall, great class.

Comment:

Horrible teacher. Her grading is questionable; you lose 2 points here &3 points there with absolutely no explanation. The work does not match the unit load. She is never clear as to what she wants and she talks in circles. This class is suppose to prepare teachers, and every day I attend, it makes me hate teaching. If you can, avoid her classes.

She is a very sweet lady. She loves to teach and share ideas and opinions, however her biggest downfall is clarity. She can be slightly unclear sometimes, but if you pay attention and go ever all the required readings it's not to hard; it is a decent amount of work. If you have problems working without clear instructions I don't recommend her.

Kathee is a sweet person and honestly loves teaching. Usual group assignments, but she isn't clear on essay assignments which leaves the class feeling frustrated and confused. Her tests are involved essay exams which require making connections between texts. Sweet lady; harder than expected and can be inflexible.

This teacher is incredibly unfair. If you don't agree with her opinion or have an opinion of your own, she will mark you down for it or go out of her way to belittle you in class. Avoid taking any class with this teacher if you can.
