There is a decent amount of homework in this class where you have to do a lot of MySpanishLab each week, but it really isn't that bad since you get unlimited attempts. Angela gives good feedback if you pronounce words wrong or if anything is off. I do recommend in person Spanish though because I feel like I didn't learn much from this class

Angela is truly a wonderful Spanish teacher! She had such a great energy that makes going to class fun! I have learned so much in this class from her! Although the class can be tough, she truly wants everyone to do well so don't worry too much about your grade. Would def recommend her!:-)

I've taken two 300 level spanish classes with her, and received good grades in both. She gives a lot of tests in 313, and sometimes it takes her a long time to return them, but she is an easy grader. My only complaint is that she doesn't update grades until the end of the term. In class she is very clear and very helpful.

Comment:

Palacios was a decent professor. My complaints: she didn't respond to my e-mails and the expectations for presentations are not explicitly clear. Other than that she grades pretty easily and has reasonable expectations in class.

She was not very helpful. Did not show up to class on a day we had a test. Syllabus is somewhat clear, but her forms on how presentations should be done are done very poor. It does not give you any guidelines, then grades you done on what was not put into the presentation even though that was never mentioned on the form.

She didn't put any effort in the class which was necessary because it was a grammar based class that relied on her teaching. Late to class a few times.. Nice lady but didn't get much from it. Unclear syllabus.

Not much book homework besides reading. Class is very much focused on oral speaking. Good syllabus, predictable schedule, but she grades hard on written assignments. Vocab quizzes are doable. She relied almost too much on the students to run the class (conversation groups, presentations, etc) rather than do any teaching herself.

I really like this professor. The quizzes are easy but I like that we speak only in Spanish and I really feel like I'm developing my speaking abilities. The textbook is hard for me but I find it challenging. I would definitely take another class from her.

Great professor!! Class is not too hard if you keep up on homework and do everything she assigns. The tests are very easy and so is the homework. Definitely the best Spanish teacher I have had and it was one of my favorite classes.

She assigns easy homework that is merely tedious and time wasting, class time is rarely spent on furthering your development of the language. She is disorganized and unclear on large assignments. She is also inefficient in terms of posting things on time on black board.

I think the other people here didn't show up to class or do their homework and that is why they think she is a bad teacher, since she frowns upon this. By the way language HW is necessary to learn a language, what else would they have you do? Furthermore tests don't teach you anything they are a measure of you retension in the subject. I think all the people who gave her a bad grade are poor students to begin with and received bad grades from her. If you actually care about learning she is a good teacher.

Took all her 200 level classes. She is engaging and she tries to make class fun, but is hampered by department mandates. She will teach 200 and 300 level courses next year and I can't wait to get into her class. Contrary to other ratings, the majority of the homework is good practice for the tests, which are easy if you study.

She is nice, but it is evident that she has favorites. She assigns A LOT of homework which is merely busywork and I found it to be of no help to my furthering of the language. She is very unorganized and unclear of what is expected.
